The top 4 restricted free agents this summer are Brandon Ingram, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Malik Beasley, and Dario Saric. Brandon Ingram 22 years old of pelicans is the main guy that should be the target of the knicks averaged 24 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assist, shot 46.8 percent from field, and 38.7 from three. Bogdan Bogdanovic 27 years old of the kings averaged 14.5 points,3.2 rebounds.3.2 assist, 43 percent from field, 36 percent from three. Malik Beasely average with nuggets 7.9 points, 1.9 rebounds, 1.2 assist, shot 38 percent from field, and 36 percent from three. Malik Beasley 23 years of age when he got trade to nugget to wolves he was a starter averaged 20.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.9 assist, 47 percent from field, and 42 percent from three. Dario Saric 26 years old of suns averaged 10 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.9 assist, 46 percent from the field, and 34 percent from three. My list would be ingram, beasley, bogdanovic, and saric also remember guys the cap is going down for the nba because of cornavirus and small market teams could be hit hard.

I was a big Beasley fan and thought we should have traded for him or signed him this summer if he didn't get traded. Now he's going to get a nice contract to stay in Minn most likely.
I didn't realize Fred VanVleet was an unrestricted FA. I thought he was restricted.
We should max him out, within reason. THE BIGGEST HOLE on this roster is a legit PG that can run the offense and shoot.

The amount of three point shooting available in this years free agency is ridiculous
Joe Harris
Bertans
Hayward
VanVleet
Christian Wood
Gallo
Malik Beasley
Ingram
Buddy Hield (not a FA but likely available in a trade)
Fournier
Ibaka
Jermaine Grant
All are late 38% to early 40s%

Layden/Isiah move. I love FVF but he’s not anywhere close to being a max player. Be patient with the PG situation.

i think the number i have seen is $20m per year, 4 years. that was pre pandemic. I don't know how that may have changed.
I don't think it is a layden/isiah move. Just the opposite.
Would it be over paying? Yes. But we have a decent roster with some decent parts that would be so much better if we had a real PG. Adding a player of VanVleet's caliber unlocks value elsewhere. It might help Randle be more productive with less turnovers.
I don't mind drafting a PG, but if you think a 19 or 20 year old is going to come in here and turn things around, you're crazy. PG is the hardest position and needs some years to develop the skills and intelligence needed. The savvy.
A player like Ball might be one of those natural talents to come in and immediately impact. I just don't see us drafting him.
If the Pelicans don’t outright give Ingram the Max the Knicks should offer Ingram. 4 year Max and just poison pill the fuck out of it (Trade kickers, Annual one time payment of entire salary, 3 year player option, etc)
Pelicans might still match, or they might not, but at least the Knicks made an attempt. I would even be open to sending them the 2023 Mavs pick as a sign and trade scenario.

I really like FVV for the right price. I’m just not sure what that price is yet given the unknown cap after the pandemic. But he’s a winner who can shoot, defend and run an offense at 26 years old. Probably the ideal backcourt partner to Barrett.

Agreed, I’ve been high on FVV for a while. Would bring a whole lot to this roster. A scrappy type player what he lacks in height he compensates with heart. Winner in my eyes. Think it’s worth considering he shares his backcourt with another all star guard in Lowry. Feels more like we make a move for Lowry ( TOR ) more open to moving him?
In fact Lowry is definitely more a Knick type acquisition. 34yrs ageing PG all star in decline? We don’t like them to young!! On a serious note Lowry still puts up good numbers... Lowry over CP3...

they might do it. The Pelicans maybe better off with a player/players that fits better with Zion. They may be wishful thinking

He’s a product of their system

Realistically, though, if we don't draft a PG, and you don't sign VanVleet, then are we honestly just going to keep going forward without a PG? At some point you need to fill the position, we're not going to get the perfect PG (I doubt they exist!). I'd be happy drafting Ball, and maybe Hayes or Haliburton or Kira Lewis, but if we don't draft any of them, I think you've got to at least consider VanVleet.

Yep. Good for them. Fred is a good player on a good team. We are not. Can’t pay a guy that kind of money if not a core kinda of guy.
Patience. Lowry needed 9 years to be an allstar!!! Not saying we give all our guys that. But not blowing them out after two years either. Dennis has reall talent but real issues. Frank and Kevin are talented. This is not easy!!

FVV is an undersized guard who not only has the benefit of playing with a talented team, but he plays alongside Lowry who is the real pg of that team. FVV would be exposed and overpaid on this team.
We have 2 picks in the 1st round and there are plenty of Pgs available. Cant see us not grabbing one.
FVV is a product of their system? Why can’t he be that same product here in the right system?
I’d rather see the Knicks get Ingram but at some point the Knicks have to spend real money on real players. Patience? You’re kidding right?

FVV plays next to all star vet Lowry, Marc Gasol, Siakam, Ibaka and had Kawhi.
FVV with our roster is not the same player.
I like Ingram. Kid is a dead eye shooter, rail thin......Great compliment to Zion.
Could give Knox more time to breath and develop to either keep or increased trade value down the road.

Would love to sign Ingrsm, but he would have to be an idiot to leave Zion to play alongside Knox! The Pels have a young, athletic, exciting squad that looks to be a future upper echelon team in this league. At the same time, it wouldn't be smart for the Pels to let Ingram walk either..

We’re not getting branden ingraham it’s rediculous to think the pelicans won’t match any offer
But a player who is just as good is unrestricted. Christian woods

Christian Woods stats were good, but he never looked very impressive in the games I saw (I know that’s not the most important thing), are there any mixtapes where he actually looks fun to watch?
Also isn’t he more of a C than a PF? Could he really play alongside Mitch?
