I personally fked up on Mitchell. I didn’t think he could shoot and it was a devastating mistake. Tgis looks like the same darn player. He’s got that 6-5 225 pound super athletic body with handle.
Fits in with Tom t— I like Nesmith too but can we draft a Bane at 27– he isn’t Nesmith and get a diverse draft package?

This is why front office personnel and coaches make the big bucks. If Okoro has a better jumper than expected, then he likely turns into one of the best players in this draft. If he continues shooting around .300 from 3pt line, then we essentially drafted Justise Winslow, who is decent but not someone we would be looking to build around. I get that Okoro has more potential than Vassell, but with Vassell, you know what you are getting. A solid defensive wing that can hit the 3 and play within a system, which is exactly what we need. The scouts will have to closely examine Okoro's form. It will be telling if he has improved since the end of the season. I would think that if this kid can really shoot, then his shot would have improved over the summer to some noticeably degree.
He is definitely the wing player that has athleticism and upside after Edwards. Would love to see Bryant working with him.
You really would need to figure out how to add shooting to that lineup to add Okoro. I’m not opposed, but you would need to add a PG and PF with shooting skills to make it work. And hope that Barrett finds his shot as well.

Compelling points. I’m probably in the BPA draft model, but wholly acknowledge the need for more shooting.
I mentioned on another thread that Okoro and Maxey have the potential to be the D Mitchell of this draft. Not saying they will be as good, but when we look back on this draft 5 yrs from now, they can be 2 of the top 5 players in this draft class.
Okorp is a better defender than Mitchell and not as polished offensively as Mitchell coming out of college, but Okoro has a similar build and mind set. Okoro is built like a brick house, can guard 1-4, and is explosive going to the basket. In order to make the leap to the D Mitchell realm, he has to vastly improve his handle. D Mitch can get to any spot on the court that he wants because of his handle. Okoro is not that type of player yet but the potential is there.

That's where I'm at. If Okoro is there, take him. I don't think he will be, but I'll slot him as a possible. We're not close to the playoffs, so I'm not as worried about roster fit.

It's tough to figure out D. Mitchell analogy because his route is different from pretty much everyone in the glass. He had the opportunity to develop physically and skillwise in prep school before he got to Louisville. He was 21 by the time he declared for the draft after his sophomore year. If you're really looking for a comparison, the closest one is Obi Toppin. I think we can all agree, that comparison isn't even close. The second closest one could be Cole Anthony. Their draft year shooting percentages aren't that far off.

I’ve stuck with Nesmith but here’s the problem for everyone making guess
This draft is so open ended. Anything can happen! I don’t know who the top 3 is. Someone u think is going 12 could be 37. Someone mocked 25 could go 7-8. It’s so all over that it mixes u up. Hardest draft although to me deepish with most intrigue maybe ever through pick 60.

reach is super important for so many things especially on defense. IMO it's a far more important measure than height. Most rebounds are still under the height of the rim FWIW.
Reggie Jackson pg supposedly has a 7' reach. he might be someone btw we may want to target
