Knicks · I made a video on the Knicks potentially signing Vanvleet. I think he would be a good pickup but not for 22M! (page 1)

17/18m or no

If we draft well this year and get players who supersedes or meet expectations that’s a big victory.

next years draft offer every pick we own to get the bpa or pg we need.

sign a cheaper stop/gap Veteran pg this year. Look for a kira/Maxey with the late pick.

The naysayers will tell me you need to build culture now!!

no way you can go into another season without a inexperienced rookie pg

To have a “winning” culture also means a general manager who can weigh risk/reward of a player signing and long term impact. The objective is to compete for a title for a decade. By rushing the “process” you only insure mediocrity in playoff appearances.

If the objective is just business, star power and a show, trade everything for lamelo or cp3. It really depends on what type of fan you are and your expectations. Do you want long term Winning or a show?

20-22 mill (2+1..structured with a buy out like Randle's)is the market price for his talent, but as long as they have other good players that can compliment his skill set, it shouldn't be a problem

Some of you have to understand that the Knicks are not a very go team, your not going to get good talent at a cheap rate, for-get-about-it.

You have to look at the franchise like BAD CREDIT, they are going to pay a higher interest rate until they establish a winning culture.

If you want cheap talent, then focus on the G league and see who's ready to make that jump.

It's funny how fans will research a ton of potential draft picks, but hardly every pays attention to guys lighting up the G league( where FVV got his opportunity)

I think it’s way to much. He’s a very nice player and getting better.

But, with Lowry, Pascal, Powell, OG, Ibaka and a top 4 coach he’s in a perfect position to succeed. They love their guys in Toronto and the media scrutiny is going to be enourmous.

I know we have a loser culture here and beginning to dig your way out of it is important, but having a difference maker in next years draft is going to be what gets free agents here, with improvement from our young guys.

Exactly

If the league notices and says, wow look at rj. He got more shifty and is hitting 37 percent from 3, 75 percent from the free throw line and scoring 20ppg. Look at Mitch! Omg.
he added a mid range game and moved his game up a level. Then wow look at a toppin,Hayes Cole vassel nesmith kira! The Knicks have a little squad now. They won 35-40 games. Then the free agents will come!

Build it. They will come.

Stop being a joke Knicks. Be smart.

I do like Fred van fleet.

Maybe 20m... lol. needs to work on that mid range game.

why are we discussing overpaying in free agency? isn't that how you get a guy to leave the place he won a championship? you think he's coming here at a discount?

See Boston, Miami, Denver, Toronto....

Which one of those teams have had 7 straight lottery seasons in the last 15 yrs, 4 different FO regimes, 6 different coaches.

See kings, suns, hornets, bulls, Twolves.

Kp, frank, mudiay, randle, knox, rj, DSj, vonleh, we have some decent young cheap talent through the draft and trades and it has resulted in a losing culture.

The term "win now or go home" doesn't just apply to playoff games, (see fizdale, JH, woodson, fisher, rambust,)

If you want to have a stable coaching staff and FO, you better hope they are putting a win now product on the floor, you better hope you have win now players, helping to develop a win now mentality, you better hope you have win now coach teaching win now habits.

Most of the time You get what you pay for with Cheap talent, cheap (50+loss )results
