Knicks · Stop the Chris Paul bs (page 3)

I like your thinking and the rationale makes some sense. I think the difference is that CP3 minutes represent 1/5 of the minutes available at the PG spot. CP3 would not be relieving anyone based on this theory. And because the Knicks are rebuilding its hard to imagine that he'd both want to be here and could thrive here.

If I were imagining how it might play out, the next logical goal for *this* Knicks team will be to make the playoffs. Miracles can and do happen but that's very very unlikely. So let's say CP3 gets them to the playoffs and they predictably fall short. For the Knicks its progress. For CP3, its torture.

I remember David West, leaving 12mil on the table, just to hook up with a playoff team, just to get that ring. CP3 has those same desires. Why does he spend his last years babysitting a team that's more than a couple of years away from the playoffs? The ring is always the goal.

Jimbo5 @ 9/22/2020 1:14 AM
I hope they abandon all their plans of trading for CP3 and even going after FVV. I know the FO is in alot of pressure to show some kind of progress to show next year's free agents that the knicks can be a destination for superstars. I think the culture can also be seen in the coaching staff, if the whole NBA sees that this young roster enjoys playing their hearts out for the coaches and leaves nothing when they play day in and day out, i think it will be more of an organic improvement instead of a superficial one due to a name player like CP3 or FVV. Superstar should value that more knowing that they will be part of a team with a reliable supporting cast.

I hope they will commit to starting Frank the whole year next season with DSJ as the back up and just bring in DJ Agustin for leadership and stability without committing any minutes for him. Let the young PGs finally get some burn and develop. Its a gamble that the FO should have taken a long time ago so they finally know what they have in Frank and DSJ.

This is all nice and well but what you are inviting is perhaps a worse season than last year? I'd say there was very little in the way of development via on court play.

You bringing everyone back and just sitting Wayne, Taj, Elfrid, Portis mostly? Or are they in the rotation? Who you keeping and who you releasing?

MS @ 9/22/2020 6:19 PM
Our veterans didn’t bring a whole lot to the table last year.

Portis, Payton, Ellington I would let walk.

If they want to bring Gibson and Bullock back for veteran leadership I like that idea. I would look to give Justin Holiday a multi year deal at a reasonable number. We should have locked him up a while ago.

I like Augustin, Ibaka, Milshap if we are going veteran hunting. I also would give Daren Collison a call, we have money and a bloated one year deal would preserve space and help stabilize the team at the PG position.

CP3 is too dangerous if he falls off, especially hearing some of the offers we might be making.

We have waited long enough for a decent team, one more season and one more lottery pick isn’t going to kill us.

It’s going to take a trade to bring someone here likely so asset accumulation is what we should be focusing on, not 35 year old PGs.

I think like Jimmy Butler or Iguodala he's really either, but for some reason I see him as more of a SF going forward. I think with the type of players that compliment him, it’s more likely to be a pure SG. But Barrett is a wing and interchangeable between those positions.

RJ’s best position is SF. He can be a point forward and post up/slash which is the strongest part of his game

Good news.

From the Post..

After a strong start in New York in his first partial season, Smith slumped badly this past year, wracked by an array of injuries and the early-season death of his stepmother. He also was on the trading block.

However, Smith is believed to have a fan in new head coach Tom Thibodeau, who was high on Smith when he came out of N.C. State, according to SNY. Smith has been working with Thibodeau during the OTAs the past two weeks.

No matter where you stand on the Frank vs Dennis debates. You should be glad that an important piece of the KP trade is being thoroughly checked out. If they decide to trade Smith jr, no one can say the Knicks didnt do, their due diligence.

Best case scenario is DSJr finding his game. Frank as a stopper, at multiple positions. And enough offense to keep it from being a 4 on 5.

+1 fair and balanced. Gustav seems to have mellowed with watching Tom Terrific lead his Bucs! LMAO!

Imagine Frank and DSJr as the new, youthier version of Clyde and Pearl! Or maybe just a non-dysfunctional, actually functional version of Marbles and StevieFranchise!

Ha! Wsit until we lose to a playoff team. Glad Evans got his act together. His first game he was acting like his old teammate, Manziel. It all rides on protecting Brady like they did in NE.

Clyde and pearl...lol

There was a stretch this season where every guard that played against us had "season high" "Careers highs" like the clev/NYK game where sexton put up 31, and in 35 minutes( a career high for frank) he shot 1-4 and ended with 4 points. The next game lavine drops 25, and Coby white had 27 off the bench, frank had 3 points on 1-4 in 29 minutes. You will have a hard time finding 1 guard in the nba that can play that many minutes and take so few shots.

The cleveland game was the same game that perry and mills put Fiz on the hot seat only to get blown out the very next game.

I don't think any coach can survive in todays NBA with out above an avg guard play, and the knicks have proven that over and over again

Why? I have never gotten these types of child'ish comparisons. I'm a Knicks fan and want both of those guys to succeed and become high level players. Same with Knox. But at some point you become aware of what you have.

This is not an either or situation; you don't like Frank and therefore hate DSJr or vice versa.

DSJr has been blessed with an ungodly level of physical talent and he seems to just piss it away instead of putting in the hard work

I don't like frank on the knicks, that's what some of you don't realize, he deserves to be on a championship caliber team in a small role that suits him where he can take his time and develop..Frank isn't a thibs type guard and will surely get screwed again

We on the other hand, cant afford a slow rebuild, the last 2 regimes tried that and loss 100's of games and got fired, I dont want that, but if we go that rout again, we will be looking at a new regime in 24 months..

For those accusing me of not being too far behind given my responses I welcome that and concur. I need a new jacket myself sometimes?

From the Post..

After a strong start in New York in his first partial season, Smith slumped badly this past year, wracked by an array of injuries and the early-season death of his stepmother. He also was on the trading block.

However, Smith is believed to have a fan in new head coach Tom Thibodeau, who was high on Smith when he came out of N.C. State, according to SNY. Smith has been working with Thibodeau during the OTAs the past two weeks.

Thats bad news for frank fans

“1248” comes home his wife is painting a room:

Rainman: Hi hon. what you doing?
Mrs 1248: I’m baking a cake, what does it look like?
Rainman: Painting the room, duh! I don’t like that color.
Mrs 1248: I painted it two years ago and you said the same thing. What color do you like?
Rainman: a color that makes me happy?
Mrs 1248: Ok, what is that?
Rainman: One that makes me feel good, pleases to the eye, is fashionable, timeless and says “Winning”.
Mrs 1248: OK, red, Blue?
Rainman: one that I wake up to that says “Good morning”! Color that speaks to me? Not this one!
1248: You tell me you don’t like what we have, but can’t tell me what you want!
Rainman: That color is a low motivator, it depresses me, does not inspire!
1248: Should I keep painting new ones every year or so until your happy?
Rainman: I like other people’s house colors.
Mrs 1248: I did that before, you did not like it here!
Rainman: Maybe I just don’t really like the way you paint. You have not painted a nice color for me.
Mrs Rainman: YOu wont’ tell me what you like, just what you don’t like.
Rainman: I like other people’s house colors.
Mrs 1248: You told me this before.

Stalker? A but harsh. Obsessed with everything you say? Not that hard. You don’t say much, just a few thing things with redundancy. “Everyone on the board knows it?” Again, your not saying much. Count me is as Part of “Everyone”. I admit to it. They tolerate your posts better than I. My fiction is a complete waste of time. Perhaps my obnoxious responses do add a bit of entertainment to someone’s day. I amuse myself so at least one person appreciates Nalod.
Somewhere Marv has a chart on my behavior and I’m a case study. Perhaps he can prescribe me something to take the edge off your posts. I don’t agree with a lot of views By other and don’t respond. Yours are like fingernails on a chalkboard. Your Hardly a deplorable person and you mean well. Outside of you making shyt up and lazy at times I Can’t quite put my finger on it.
Sorry if my depiction went to far. Really, I don’t know you well enough to hit a nerve and hope you can take some of it with a grain of salt. I’m obsessed with your Frank obsession.
