We are roughly 6 weeks from free agency. Subject to change of course, but what do you see happening as of right now? Not what you want to happen, but what you think will happen?
I think the Knicks trade for Chris Paul using Randle, Ntilikina and some low level draft pick.
Draft Vassell at 8
Sign the best stopgap stretch-4 that is willing to take a 1 year deal. I think that player will be someone like JaMychal Green, who can make open threes, rebound, defend decently enough, and seems to fit a Thibs team.
C Robinson
PF Green
SF Barrett
SG Vassell
PG Paul
Give me your starting 5 prediction as of today.
C - Robinson
PF - Randle
SF - Vassell
SG - Barrett
PG - DSJr
I think the Knicks go for Gallinari and C.Woods but end up striking out on both. I think they resist C.Paul trade as Thibs decides to give DSJr one more try. I hope I'm wrong and they do sign one of the desirable stretch fours. I think Jerami Grant could be worthwhile if Denver doesn't go hard to resign him
C - Robinson
PF - Randle
SF - Vassel
SG - RJ
PG - Frank
Randle included I just want to see what our new coaching staff can do with our current young guys before we make any trades. Their value can only go up from the shit show (fire Fiz) that was last season.
C - Mitch
PF - Horford
SF - Oubre
SG - RJ
PG - FVV

I'd be very interested to know what the Knicks could get back for both of the Horford and Oubre trades.
Haven't watched much of Philly play this past year and know that Horford's contract absolutely sucks but if I were to go all in on FVV, I'd also go for Horford.
Don't think I'd keep Oubre for more than the expiring and pick

You really think we run it back with another bad shooting lineup ? Seems like that’s the first priority.

I just can’t see another year with no spacing in the starting lineup. Your only shooter is a rookie.
Believe Randle is better suited coming off the bench. But Im guessing Thibs will give Randle a chance to start. See what happens. Also guessing that Knox has put in the work in the offseason. Dont know if he'll be consistent enough to start for a season. But I do believe he has the talent to win the starting job.
Mitch
Randle
Knox
Barrett
Smith jr.
What I want?
Bledsoe(help facilitate Paul to Milwaukee)
RJ
Vassell
Morris
Horford
A two way team that can space the floor. Not gonna happen tho so well see this:
Payton or FVV(gross overpay)
Barrett
Vassell
Randle
Gibson
Not sold on Mitch starting.

We definitely need more shooters but I still have little confidence they get it done until 2021

It's not what I want - the question was your best guess at the starting lineup. I think we will try to obtain a few stretch fours/shooters - but this is the Knicks where every offseason ends in disappointment and dashed hopes... I agree we need more shooting but every offseason we have multiple needs that usually don't get addressed adequately. If you've been a Knick fan for more than 5 minutes you should understand this :)

Absolutely true. I just feel like there’s too much talk about adding shooters and focusing on creating corner threes to run it back with a team that has the same spacing issues as last year. One can only hope at least.

Where? in China? If the goal is to have terrible defense and shoot sub 40 from the floor than yeah he can start

This is something i can see in terms of taking a step forward with floor spacing. While I would say there’s a good chance Randle is back at the 4, I wonder if there’s a real possibility that Knox may get a shot at the stretch 4 where he belongs with Randle coming off the bench.

I see both side of it. I think Knox would obviously have to show major improvements but I wouldn’t rule it out.

We automatically throw the rookies in the starting lineup. It’s not always necessary.

We've seen Knox play lights out over the span of a month. We've also seen Knox play solid D at times. Make some big time stops on good players. Its about consistency. As well as better footwork.
Playing well enough to earn the starting job is one thing, keeping it is another.
