And it’s only going to get wilder
BigDaddyG @ 10/2/2020 2:35 AM
Is that why she was so standoffish with him after the debate? This is wild. I have no love for the man, but I wouldn't wish this on anybody.
wargames @ 10/2/2020 2:57 AM
Thoughts and prayers..... I guess
smackeddog @ 10/2/2020 4:48 AM
He's over 70 and obese, truly bizarre he took so few precautions
ramtour420 @ 10/2/2020 5:25 AM
You social status makes no difference to the virus. Stay safe
Nalod @ 10/2/2020 7:50 AM
One way to get out of the debate. Emerge from the virus like it was nothing and those that get really sick “are losers”.
Is it real or is it strategic?
I don’t want him to die or anything. The democratic process needs to play out.

I don't see it as strategic because I think it is a bad thing for his campaign. It plays out well for the other side. My family all got it very early on because my wife works in an emergency room, and while my wife, son, and my father all had very mild symptoms, my mom (who is 72 and has no underlining conditions) was down and out for about 6 weeks. This could feasibly impact him until after the election, particularly given his age, although the virus really does effect everyone differently. But Trump being Trump, I think his goal will be to break through this whole thing like some self-perceived superhero.

Wonder what Roy Cohn would think of this development?

People in general are shallow.

Trump would be in a better health situation if he was in very good shape and he'd have an easier time in politics. ( Well as easy as it will get for a guy who says stupid shit all the time)

If he was fit and worked out and kept it up his entire life, he'd have better results with female voters. He have more respect from some male voters. A good physique esp as you are older you have to work for it, no one can give it to you. Arnie became Governor in part because he gave off a very Alpha presentation.

Get jacked, get a crew cut, get a nicer wardrobe and it all makes a difference. Instead of arrogant, you get called fearless. Instead of a loudmouth, you get called provocative.

Bill Clinton had an easier time because a lot of women found him attractive. He was a good public speaker, he had real charisma and he could handle people fairly well. It's called the "Halo Effect" when people associate positive traits to you, even ones not actually true, when they find you attractive.

Is anyone going to deny that Ocasio-Cortez gets so much screen time, in part, because she's about as fuckable as someone in real politics is going to get? I mean in southern California, she's not a 10, but when stacked up against a bunch of 60 year olds?

Who knows if it's true or not. It's a safe way to get people to ease back some of the criticism, offer a comeback story potential and have a strong cover to avoid any future debates.

And those with deep hatred toward women also hold themselves back...........

Maybe Trump disgusts himself?
If he in fact has it, and is symptomatic one can say “Ain’t Karma a bitch!”
A wounded animal is more dangerous. The last 6 days have me spinning.

Good point. Writers will be butchering "Angels in America" for the next 50 years, if this turns out to be fatal.

You are probably right. In terms of this not being strategic. But I do not put anything past them. However, if he does come out of this OK, which I feel he will given all the medicine the leader of the free world has access to that regular folks don't, he will obviously play it in his favor. Claiming he was right all along. That this is less harmful than a mild flu. That the overwhelming majority have nothing to worry about. That the Dem's are just blowing things out of proportion with the fear they try to push. And his base will all agree and claim he is a hero. Once again ignoring the many that have died and the many more that will add to the shameful numbers.

The Trump era has been a circus sideshow. Still feels like I am watching a low grade fictional cinematic production.

The decency in me wants to simply say that I hope he makes a full and speedy recovery. But honestly, while I do not wish for him to die, I do hope that he gets ill, not for the reason of punishing him, but in the hope that if these idiots see Trump get really sick they may start taking the virus more seriously and stop putting the rest of us at risk. Hopefully, through his illness, he can actually save lives for a change. It may be worse if he makes a speedy recovery, because he will then start running around saying to whole thing is a hoax and even more morons will listen to him (ignoring the fact that his speedy recovery likely is due to him receiving the best medical attention and treatment available).

Prob from same cluster?

Don’t forget his buddy Herman Cain was part of the anti mask rally crew then contracted the virus and died from it. I thought trump would change his perspective a bit but he’s too far gone at this point. I don’t see this playing in his favor at all.
