Knicks · Thoughts on RFA Malik Beasley? (page 1)

He can really shoot it and is an ideal SG for today's league. Minn traded for him with intent to resign him but that was before winning the lottery and Beasley ran into some legal troubles. On paper Beasley fits well next to D Russell in Minn but I can't see them paying him big money to come off the bench if they draft Ball or Edwards. He's not a SF either, as he's only 6'4. He's still only 23 and his agent is Rich Paul, so there's a connection to the Knicks front office. He can probably be a younger, slightly cheaper version of Buddy Hield in my opinion and be the 3rd option behind Barrett and Randle. Is he a good option to pursue as a free agent?

I actually wouldn't mind him he could come on relatively solid deal 2 years 32 million but he does have baggage with gun charges with minnesota. When he was a starter with wolves he averaged 20 points on 48 percent shooting and 42 percent three.

I'd rather give him 10-15 per for 2 years than give up everything just to get Oladipo or Hield.

That gun charge is serious. Looks like it could be thrown out though. His talent at the 2 guard pushed RJ to the 3. Knicks actually need to speed up the backcourt and improve the outside shot

Yes. It's called opportunity. Assuming he's not incarcerated why not make a play for him?
I'm no fan of Oladipo and while Hield is desirable, he's an expensive buy.

Malik is the "baby step" you hope pans out.

I guess if you don't take on guys in the NBA who carry guns and smoke weed you're not left with much.

It's that "how the fuck did the Knicks get all that fire power?" Phenomenon...

Why not us for a change?

How many players choke their coach, get suspended, then traded and get a new contract bigger than the other?
Spree.

How many people get sentenced to 25 days in jail and get to play hone games on work release. Then still remain with club to help them win a championship. KCP of the Lakers

Did Ray ever go to jail for the gun thing? I don't think so, but I'm not sure?

No but he got over. Nyc doesn't play around with gun charges. He did. They don't care that the gym is legal in another state
