It's really amazing how some fans don't see the upside IN DSJ.

To DSjr's credit ive heard he has been a gym rat for months now. Was working with Thibs for weeks before the Knicks held their practices. While him being labeled the answer is extreme. Him putting in the work and turning around his career would be a win for the Knicks. Also needs to mature and work on his attitude when things aren't going his way.
That highlight clip tells us nothing. I already know he can dunk and has a nice crossover dribble when he's healthy. What we need to know is if he's mentally prepared, can he raise his on-court IQ and if he's improved his J. I'm hoping he's bounced back, but I'm far from proclaiming him an answer to anything.

he doesnt do much that helps his teams win ever... so there's that. Rose brought in a lot of touted developmental coaches. Hopefully these guys can have an impact on our young players starting with Knox, Frank and DSJ who are fighting for their NBA lives.
knicks1248 also thought the same about Trey Burke... and then when Phili got him it was because they were a "winning team"
If DSJ ends up being a nice bench piece, great, but i'm lost hope in today's NBA with a PG who can't shoot, pass, defend, and doesn't play hard all the time.

If 90% of the NBA were 2 way players, we would be well off right now.

It's hard to have much faith in any point guard on this team, but DSJ was awful. Frank showed improvement at the tail end of the season, even on the offensive. DSJ played like crap throughout. You can argue that if anyone needed to be sent down to G-League, it was DSJ. Even his strength (attacking the hole) wasn't really apparent. He took a major step backwards last season and most people are taking a wait and see approach. Frank on the other hand at least showed improvement. Was enough to feel confident that he'll grab the starting point guard spot? No. But it was more than DSJ showed.

While the move to the bench resulted in a minutes reduction to a mere 18 minutes per game over the final 30 games of the season (much to mine and many others’ consternation), there is no doubt it benefited Ntilikina. His per-36 numbers jumped to 13.2 points, 6.2 assists and 4.4 rebounds while shoothttp://ing 40.3% from the field (51.3 TS%) on 18.3 USG%. That leap in production only served to quantify the palpable on-court improvement evident over the latter half of the season.

I hope DSjr turns into a HOF player with the Knicks. Same for Frank and Kevin.
What I hope and my expectations are usually not aligned with the outcome. By that, who cares about predications?
It all gets sorted out on the court in due time!
DSJ plays no defense, is a horrific shooter, turns the ball over a ton and is not only a locker room cancer but even acts like moping headcase on the court during games. DSJ is the answer if you like losing
When the franchise has no leader on the roster, no system, no direction, very little talent, a bunch of young low IQ players, a horrid development process, poor training habits, a revolving door of coaches and players, and very little emphasis on winning, you have to know that it will effect the player mentally and physically.
If anyone of us worked in an environment like that, you would be a disgruntle employee looking for a new job.

To be fair, DSJ CAN turn it around and I’ll be cheering for him if he does. I am rooting for him to do well. He’s a Knick and he doesn’t seem like a bad guy. I don’t see anything to support that he’s suddenly going to be a franchise changer though.

The difference between Frank and DSJ is the path they took to get to the NBA, and the style of play they develop early in their careers
We are in a pg, shoot first ERA, the top 20 guards are all scorers.

the guy avg lees than 2 TO's, we were a very bad defensive team in the 32+ games DSJ didn't even play in.
And If frank and peyton are better defenders, please explain how for 8 straight games, the opposing PG lit both of them up for 20+ points, and in half those games some guys some had career nights...
Donavan Mitchell and Murry lit each other up in he playoffs, would you avoid signing anyone of them because they can't play D?

DSJ's turnover ratio ranked 92 out of 96 players. He does turn the ball over a lot in relation to his usage rate. He also shot worse than Frank. Again, I hope DSJ bounces back, nothing you have said gives me a reason to believe DSJ is the answer. Let's just hope he gets his mind right and he's ready to ball out.
