Note: I expect toppin/Hayes to be gone. Haliburton is not a good fit.

Kira
Bey/tillie
Quickley/joe/mason jones

Vassel
Tillie/mcdaniels
Quickley/joe/Jones

Okoro
Riller/flyn
Joe/jones

trade down to add picks with our first pick nesmith. Kira would be gone.

Trade up for advija, ball or wiseman (my least favorite scenario)

Trading for Westbrook (worse than the above idea) great for entertainment, generating revenue and to finish 8th.

My list is deficient of 4s because I believe we will pick up a veteran stretch 4 in free agency.also we have wooten already.

Also i expect a veteran pg to be signed

dwiley20 @ 11/17/2020 9:28 AM

i'm kind of in this camp too. at 27 i can also imagine an active bigger body who plays defense

unstopaball12 @ 11/17/2020 10:13 AM
If we are trading for westbrook for DSJ or Frank and players on team options then I want nesmith at 8 and trade 27 and 36 for a mid first rounder--get BPA.

If we aren't trading for westbrook - okoro or vessell.

BRIGGS @ 11/17/2020 10:15 AM
I’m happy with one of Nesmith Halliburton or Okoro.
Pick 27. We need a big man.Zeke Nnaji
Pick 38 Payton Pritchard
fwk00 @ 11/17/2020 11:39 AM
At 8 BPA - any of Vassell, Okoro, Haliburton, Advida, Ball work for me

At 27, I need quality - Terry, Nesmith, or Carey would be who I target even if this pick needs to be traded up to do it

at 36, I need to roll the dice on an older player who can fill out the bench Scrubb,Madar,Nwora,Elleby,Quickly all work

Why don't you think Haliburton is a good fit? He's one of the better shooters in the draft and can play either guard position and play on or off the ball. I think he's a great fit. He's my top choice at this point still if he's there. My guess is we end up with Haliburton or Vassell because both are CAA clients, both are versatile and can play in a variety of lineups. When you have a rebuilding situation and so many unknowns, I think line-up versatility is very important and either of these players offer that. In order to go with a PG, the front office will have to really fall in love with a prospect like Lewis or Hayes in order to draft either. They have to be extra confident this is the PG of the future and essentially are ruling out future moves for VanVleet, Westbrook, Conley etc. So unless they feel one of those guys is a future star, the safe bet is the multi-position guy.

I think Hal is probably going to play mostly off ball in the beginning. His shooting form, judging from the time we last saw him play organized ball, is too slow and he's going to have some trouble shooting of the dribble. As a bench player, I think he can fit right in on most roster's. As a starter, I think he'll need a few years. Vassell, at least as of now, is a two-guard in most lineups offensively. He'll need some time to fill out and improve his handle. Okoro needs to improve his shooting and Obi might be the worst defense player I've seen in the lottery in recent history.. All of the guys in our range have serious questions and it's going to take time for all of them.
EwingsGlass @ 11/17/2020 12:05 PM
Kira Lewis is the guy I believe has the most upside and best fits both the needs and the coaching.
KnickDanger @ 11/17/2020 12:07 PM
Hayes or Halliburton. After that a coin toss on the names mentioned.
Jimbo5 @ 11/17/2020 12:20 PM
If the knicks will get Westbrook;

A. Hope obi drops at 8, trade 27 and 38 for mid teens pick for maxey then trade for Hayward or LaVine
Or
B. Draft Okoro or Vassell at 8, package 27 and 38 for maxey and trade for Aaron Gordon or markkenen

He might have a great percentage but is that form of his really going to work in the NBA? I’ll give you the defense and passing and athleticism but that form is going to become a problem.

If we stay @ 8 Haliburton, if he drops. Hal is a winner and is the type of player you need to have if your intent is to build a winning culture. People question his form, but unlike Lonzo Ball, his shot goes in. Sure, he'll need to tweak a little in order to shoot off the dribble but he knows how to find the hole.

If Haliburton isn't there, I'm cool with Okoro or Nesmith (would trade back but think he doesn't make it past 12). If you guys watched Miami advance through the playoffs, Duncan Robinson ability to run off screens opened-up a lot of gaps for his teammates because he would drag multiple defenders to his side of the floor. Nesmith can do the same. In addition, Nesmith is stronger than Robinson, so he should be able to get to the basket and finsih through contact. The more film I watch, the more intrigued I am by his potential.

If we trade back, with a team like Orlando, then grab Kira or Maxey.

@ 27 Desmond Bane

@ 38 Quickley or Grant Riller

I might push for a future protected pick. This draft isn't that good to take on a sudden influx of first-rounders at once. They'll just take up cap space.

He shot the ball very deep in college. As a catch and shoot player he will have no problems with his shot. As a playmaker, yes, he won't be an elite pullup threat, so it lowers his floor from potential star to elite role player. But drafting at 8 i'm okay with that. He's a plug in play player whoever you sign/trade for etc. He can start right away at the 2 or play off the bench as a combo guard. He's really the perfect fit for Atl so I would expect them to take him if they stay pat, but if they trade out or something he could fall to us and is a good fit with Barrett and Mitch as a great passer, spot up threat, and team defender all being very transferrable skills.

This draft is not good at the very top but is kinda flat all the way from 10-35 ish.

Picks 20-30 make $2M and less, it's not cap space.

Also roster spots. I think a future first-rounder probably helps us out more in trades.

I see Haliburton having problems similar to Lonzo shooting from three. Can you imagine him winding up with Mitch flying at him? Not completely closed off to move, but the fan base will need to temper expectations.
