Makes sense. They've been slobbering over him for a while. Not really thrilled with this. But it means Randle is likely gone, so it's a plus overall.
He's not better then Randle, he's more athletic, but overall, Randle is a 20, 10, 3 player.
I dont how you can judge randle without taking into consideration his crappy coach and his brick laying teammates
Randle has a really good contract also. My only issue with Randle is more an issue with the Knicks than Randle. Same issue I have with Barrett. There is no floor spacing so these guys have no room to work. I only advocate trading Randle if it results in some 3pt shooting.
More pieces? Knicks may need to buy another 2nd round pick or offer some cap relief it the Cavs need it. Definitely not giving up any picks from next year!

Toppin is a better fit in the modern game because of his shooting. He has more defensive potential too but obviously he has to improve a lot.
Toppin reminds me a bit of Shawn Marion. I worry about his age giving a false indicator - at 22, he is closer to being what he is going to be than say, Kira Lewis as a young 19.

Once upon a time, a 22 year old was considered young and full of upside and promise. I believe the famous Knick you named yourself after was 22 when he was drafted....
would 8, 23, and Mitch yield #1 pick?
I ask because Mitch makes a lot of sense on Wolves where KAT wants to play the 4 and they need defense. 8 and 23 can provide a wing, shooter, and/or depth
I'm not saying i would like that deal because i like Mitch but it could be an instance of selling high (maybe this is as good as Mitch gets) and maybe they have some connection with Penny and he's saying Wiseman is the real deal???
i would be disgusted with such a move for LaMelo or Edwards

What about for Obi? Supposedly Cleveland wants Mitch and the 8th pick.

Hell no! Didn't see any reports that they are asking for Mitch, though.

I heard of read it somewhere. Maybe some twitter fan just said it and it caught my eye on google.

Why would we do that? We'd have a huge hole at 5, and Obi competing with Randle at 4? Seems too rich and we have problems
At least if it were Wiseman (100% speculation) you'd avoid the whole at 5. But we'd have to think he's the real deal

It seems like Mitch is what held them up for #2. Doubt that stance changes for #1.

could be posturing too. This is what selling high should feel like. Will Mitch make the next step??? Is Wiseman the real deal. Penny has known Wiseman since HS. Does he have REAL connections to our FO

You do realize this is a guards league, and we have no scoring guards. I just heard Jay Bilas say big man are a dime a dozen in todays NBA.
I would take those 2 over every player we have not name RJ

Edwards has a bad reputation with his effort and attitude and Ball, as of now, has no shot and plays no defense. I would welcome Ball but he’s no promise.

I don't want to make a huge issue of age. Its just an upside projection. He is one of the oldest sophomores you will find. The age differential between Obi as the oldest sophomore and Kira as the youngest sophomore is quite substantial. Obi is more "nba-ready" as he has his big boy body. Kira has exceptional upside (but perhaps prone to overestimation on upside projection?) based on his much younger age.
I note that 35 years ago was a different time for 22 year olds, but the NBA certain missed a few 4 year players over the last couple years based on their projection models.

I didn't get that memo. Must have to be in the inner circle Maybe you should send a copy to the lakers where their best players are front court. Or Miami they're obviously making big mistakes with Bam, or Denver as they're making mistakes with Joker,
Obviously the Celts with wings out the wazoo got the memo, but they too seem on the hunt for a big. Houston got the memo and downsized (getting rid of Capella and going smaller). That worked like a charm for them.
On a more realistic note, of course everyone wants to upgrade their talent base and we need guards and wings badly, but it could be a smart business decision by selling Mitch at a high point. LaMelo and Edwards have huge flags IMO

i saw him last night on ESPN with no shirt on. And honestly it was frightening. An optimist might say he'll eventually fill out and put on muscle. but i was not seeing the frame for that at all

Randle complaining about brick laying teammates would have to look in the mirror first. Randle shot 46% overall, as a PF, and 28% from three. I don't give a f*$k about his feelings. Toppin projects as a Bette shooter and passer. And he's less likely to get blocked at the rim after executing an untimely spin move. Toppin sucks at defense, but it's not like Randle is Anthony Mason either.

Yes LaMelo. looked like he was 14. i mean scrawny. and his frame was frail
Ja and others have been string beans but some are exceptionally explosive and sinewy -- skinny strong
on the other hand i would not be surprised in LaMelo cannot bench 135. 82 games is going to kill him since he's more of a driver and i don't see him blowing past people
edwards looked a bit out of shape but he was clearly very explosive!, probably his best trait.
If we hadn’t won that final game vs the Hawks, we wouldn’t be in this situation where we’re looking to use two picks to move up
