Knicks · can someone clarify how the Payton/Ellington/Portis options work and when they kick in? (11/19 at 3pm) (page 2)

My understanding is that teams over the cap highly value Trade Player Exceptions (TPE). So now the Knicks can take in players while getting picks and give up the TPE outward.... we shall see how this shakes out

Dotson move is curious. What was his QO? I think in the range of $2M. Seems reasonable for a rotation/ bench guard with a decent shot, effort play and some upside.

No need to trade anything for Hayward as he can just opt out and sign. A bit of me is interested in the idea of signing VanVleet and Hayward. 2021 FA is already a bust (nearly every top player is not obtainable)

PG- Van Vleet
SG- RJ
SF Hayward
PF-Toppin
C- Mitch

3 of that starting five can shoot 3 pointers, so lots of space for Mitch and RJ. Not saying ti would be great, but it would be fun to watch (maybe not so much on defense!)

Please don't be a Westbrook trade! (I'm worried now the Hornets are out of the running)
