Knicks · Say ain’t so, Obi Toppin is the pick (page 2)

I think the coaches and the FO did a ton of research on Obi, the coaches might be confident they can cover him up on defense with the proper defensive scheme or confident enough to work on his defense to be serviceable. If we can somehow sign FVV or Dragic, the FO might still be able o make a trade using Randle for a star. Maybe then the knicks can be an exciting and competitive team come December 22.

Interesting polar opposites in this team, we have a player that is all defense and questionable offense in Frank and now an all offense and no defense in Obi! Is there a machine already invented to merge them into a perfect player? 😂

Watched the last game against the a wizards when the starters got benched and our youth players stepped up with Portis at the 4. I think Toppin with that group is going to be good. Maybe even very good

Enes Kanter is Bill Russell compared to Obi on defense. Some of the worst defense I have ever seen for a Top 10 pick

I wouldn't say highest potential, but he's the safest pick. I don't have any doubts about him getting dem buckets. But he needs to improve big-time on D just to become mediocre.

I think this draft sucks and I think Obi could be Amare. He also understands what it is to be a Knicks fan. He’s not going to fuck this up I love this pick

Turns us into a winning team until he got hurt. He is a floor spreader as well since he can shoot. He is going to work GREAT with RJ.

We just love power forwards..

Stick him in between Frank and Mitch in the starting frontcourt

RJ running point throwing lobs to Toppin and Mitch in the paint or kicking it out to Toppin at beyond the arc

I got Wood

Toppin is a way better version of Portis. I wanted Vassell but you need players like Toppin

Heck no.....I remember boxing him out in a pickup game. True story, he dunked the ball will me hanging all over him, no saying I'm nice...just adverage. Im 6'0....but I remember boxing him out was easier than I expected and he's 6'10....so I knew he wasn't going to last in the nba.

This guy obi has NY born passion and talent with skills and a work ethic as seen in his late growth spurt. Him and mitch....will be fun to watch. Along with RJ. But now those other 2 positions around those 3 have to be shooters.

We still need a shooter. Only one left sorta is Quickley

Funny thing is knicks could have had the 4th or 5th pick and would have still picked him. He was never on my radar at 8. Good break for the knicks to get an nba ready player with still some star upside.

That’s why I like the pick. His offensive ability is undeniable he can score multiple ways, shooting from 3, post moves, slashing, dunks and lobs

His defense is not good but he has a 7’2 wingspan and is still very young. Stick him in between Frank and Mitch on D that hides some of that

this and this. Could be a day 1 starter

Start both Obi and Quickley from day 1. Go with total youth movement

The main reason why he dropped is the questions about defense. I this is a huge brake for us, finally. When he dunks on Porzingises head I'll scream my face off.

Still waiting for Frank to give it another try.

You think Porzingis is going to actually play in games that’s cute
