I think he's like a Ghostbusters or something...always swiping and jumping into thin air on defense...well he's our guy.
guy can be a star.... perfect fit for the young guys. Inside outside game. Can shoot it and fly to the rim. Monster scorer out of the box. Amare/LJ caliber scorer. Put him next to Mitch and you have one of the most athletic above the rim front courts duos around, and obviously their lack of offense/defense compliment each other nicely
I could not be more thrilled with Obi at pick 8. We did lost the lottery and got lucky.
I see a guy with the highest potential in the draft - look at what he brings to the table
This guy will be in the running for rookie of the year.
Kind of feel the same way as I did when we drafted Jordan Hill. I hope they prove me wrong.

I wouldn't say highest potential, but he's the safest pick. I don't have any doubts about him getting dem buckets. But he needs to improve big-time on D just to become mediocre.

Look, he will be a scorer but if he plays defense like he did in college, he is going to get booed off the floor. His defense was abysmal. Maybe Tibbs can help him and I acknowledge that he is a solid scorer. As an older rookie, he should be in the running for rookie of the year but I cannot get behind him unless he improves his defense.
So we still have Nesmith, Haliburton, Vassell, Lewis, Saddiq Bey left. Hopefully they don’t all get taken!

Couldn’t agree more you don’t pass on a talent like obi, he’s going to be a star. Defense can be learned with effort . Plus the nba is all about offense now .
I'm thankful that there's people pissed at the Knicks draft pick. Makes 2020 feel normal again.

We had Chris Wilcox on the roster, at the time. Hill had the same exact game as Wilcox. We dont have anyone like Toppin at PF. The closest player is Mitch, and hopfully he will end up being Obi's wingman,for years to come.

i cringed whne i saw his defense ..it looks like his leg will break when i watched it. In the league they will rip him apart in pick n roll
I think the coaches and the FO did a ton of research on Obi, the coaches might be confident they can cover him up on defense with the proper defensive scheme or confident enough to work on his defense to be serviceable. If we can somehow sign FVV or Dragic, the FO might still be able o make a trade using Randle for a star. Maybe then the knicks can be an exciting and competitive team come December 22.
Interesting polar opposites in this team, we have a player that is all defense and questionable offense in Frank and now an all offense and no defense in Obi! Is there a machine already invented to merge them into a perfect player? 😂
