The West there are decent odds of Dallas being on the outside looking in. Though the new playoff format to get in will benefit Luka. Houston & Thunder should probably drop off. While Warriors, Suns & Wolves should climb up. Not to mention Memphis and Spurs can't be counted out.

Good thing the play-in tourney is 7-10 seeds

NBA is keeping the pandemic format?

This group is mostly chill. We don’t take the bait. Berman writes today that “Knicks passéd on Dmitchell and we won’t get him cuz he signed a max deal. That Assitant coach Bryant was bought in to lure him.
Thats the kind of crap many fans will light their hair on fire about. Yes it sucked that he was taken at 14th and we along with nearly half the NBA missed him. ANd it would be stupid fo him to not take that max deal even though his father works for the Mets and he from Westchester.
WE understand hype pretty good for the most part. Its not easy.

This season is going to fly by- just looking it as a prolonged Thibs boot camp for us

Dotson - 2 years $4MM

A contributor that plays hard and defends at that salary? Why not a four year deal at that price. With a point guard he’s very effective.

Whatever happened to that talk of us hiring a load of new player development/work out staff (not the assistant coaches)? The old chief conditioning trainer left months ago, havent read about any replacement and training camp is in a matter of days

The Knicks, meanwhile, are positioned with assets but projected by Vegas bookmakers as the league’s worst team.

Although Rose’s logic is easy to follow, there’s a misconception floating around about his strategy being unique to the franchise. “Building sustained success” and “Building the right way” are old mottos at this point. Knicks fans are understandably traumatized by the short-sighted mistakes of Isiah Thomas and James Dolan, but the team hasn’t traded a first-round pick since 2013. They’ve used five lottery picks in the last six years. Steve Mills constructed his message around patience, and it all blew up because of the losing — because Kevin Durant and Kawhi Leonard Irving didn’t want to join a bad team; and Kristaps Porzingis didn’t want to dedicate his prime to the defeats.

Losing is a vicious cycle.

Which brings us to Thibodeau. He’s a NASCAR driver given a Kia Sedona. How he handles the slow lane will be an intriguing storyline all season.

Everything in BOLD is straight Facts

Portis only played here for the $$, leon is not going to over pay for no one, not even a one yr deal, which is why we have 18 million in cap space left, and can't even used it to feed the HOMELESS, they would rather play for less elsewhere.

Knicks aren't going to crack the top 9 teams in the east. All they can continue to do is load up on future assets and keep their cap clear to continue to load up on future assets so they can offer a massive trade or 2.

The point guards you clamored for over the yrs. Rondo, Teague, Bledsoe wouldn't have changed our fate. They are role players on good teams not players who turn around franchises. Dennis Smith Jr we have, and Trey Young & Ja Morant weren't realistic option due to ATL being able to offer Luka who Dallas coveted. And there is 0 reason to believe that Memphis would have traded the rights to Ja Morant away.

Dude just stop it, 85% of the league are role players

Right now, no guard on this roster can defend like bledsoe, no guard on this roster can shoot better than Teague, and no guard on this roster can pass or has Rondo's IQ.

which one our current guards is better than any of the 3 you mention

I would say Frank can defend like Bledsoe, Rivers and Burks have already shot better than Teague and very few PG's in the league have Rondo's IQ. Unfortunately, we can't blend them together. But my question is if it's worth overpaying for Bledsoe, Teague and Rondo? We disagree on Westbrook, but even if the Knicks do trade for him, they can't do it if they muck up the cap by overpaying for guys on their last leg. Who knows, they might trade for Rozier or Bledsoe? Deals are still being worked out.

Yeah I would say Frank is the best defensive player hands down to Bledsoe who has extreme lapses on defense. Also quickley is a better shooter then anyone mentioned above .

I will say I doubt randle is on the roster by the start of the season unless the staff feels Mitch isn’t ready to start and randle shifts to center ... which I think would be a awful choice . Or they see randle allowing Toppin to ease into the starting role while using randle as trade bait for a bigger grab come the deadline.

As of now elf might not even make the roster and unless DSJR is reborn he will ride the pine.

Frank, IQ, rivers
Rj, burks, IQ
Bullock, Knox, burks
Randle, Toppin, spellman
Mitch, Noah, Toppin

Everything goes as planned after deadline

IQ, rivers
Frank, burks,
Rj, bullock, Knox
Toppin, Knox, Spellman
Mitch, Noah

But I’d love to see DSJR reborn and switch him out with rivers

I think we could get a nice first for randle from a playoff fringe contender and expiring contracts

Next year two first ours is probably top ten second hopefully top 20
