Seems like an ideal candidate for the DET 2nd

Definitely. I see potential 3&D in his future. Suggs is a straight a bulldog. He would fit in with Thibs.

Hopefully he's there with 1 of our 1st round picks...He's more than just a 3 and D wing...He can actually put the ball on the deck and create for himself. Fearless and clutch...His stock is on the rise for sure .

Forgot the game was on after the Knicks game was over. Tuned in at 1.1 seconds left. Got to see the finish. Great finish by Suggs. I was surprised UCLA was as slow as they were to get back on D, after they scored. Like they thought it would go to another overtime.
BRIGGS @ 4/4/2021 11:55 AM
This year draft is paramount for the Knicks. Last year we did pretty good considering extreme lack of depth. I’m not worried about not having a lottery ( although this years 8 should be great) . This is a chance to get 2-3 salaried controlled players while we use cap to find a great free agent
TPercy @ 4/4/2021 12:07 PM
The things I would do to see Mr. Suggs on this team are HIGHLY irrational.

Those are skills I think he can develop once he's in the league. But his initial role will be 3&D, kinda like how Jimmie Butler started. Anything else he provides will be gravy.

17 Josh Giddey 6-8 215 pg
20 Jalen Johnson 6-9225 sf

I wouldn't be too upset with that haul if the Knicks stay where there are. Johnson is a bit of wildcard and could late lottery or late first round. Giddey isn't ready yet, but there's enough upside there for him to be a smaller, less athletic, mediocre shooting Ben Simmons. I could see Boston from Kentucky being used with that Detroit second-rounder.

Someone mentioned davion Mitchell and I like him but can we have two small guards?

It can be done, but there will be limitations. But does Thibs see IQ as his point?

Toronto had a lot of success with Fred + Lowry. Both were very good defenders and I'm sure IQ can grow into one as he fills out his body and Mitchell's defensive prowess is definitely going to translate.

I also don't mind this haul. Would definitely prefer a reliable guard who can shoot with the Dallas pick tho.

Yep, it always comes down to upside vs. floor. I listened to the KFS podcast and they threw around a scenario where Jalen Brandon signs with the Knicks. Something like that would give the Knicks more leeway to draft for upside.

Interesting. Did he mean Jalen Brunson? I thought he was a 2022 FA? Either way I like the idea of grabbing an established guard that would allow us more leeway to get upside/talent picks.

I like him a lot as well. Assuming that shot is consistent its hard not to see his skillset translating. Its a pity ESPN among others have covered him so hard in the tourney because now it seems that he is definitely not slipping out of the lottery.

He becomes an unrestricted FA due to him being second-rounder when he signed, similar to Mitch. Dallas will likely pick up his option this year, but it might not make sense for them to extend him. He's not the greatest fit next to Luka and he will get pretty good offers from other teams. Macri's thinking (and this is all conjecture) is that Brunson and Leon's family go back. His dad was Leon's first client and they still appear to be close. If Jalen made it known that his preferred destination is the Knicks, it will make it hard for Dallas to make a deal with any other team, especially knowing that he's unrestricted. This is all conjecture, but I'm hopeful that it has some basis in reality.
