It is impossible to talk about players who improved their draft stock without talking about Tre Mann, who not only got better on the court but also got significantly bigger.
That’s right, since his freshman season, Mann grew nearly two inches and put on around 15 pounds. He also got better at virtually everything else, showing year-over-year progress in his scoring (5.3 ppg to 16.0 ppg), shooting (27.5 3P% to 40.2 3P%), rebounding (1.9 rpg to 5.6 rpg), playmaking (0.7 apg to 3.5 apg) and defense (0.6 spg to 1.4 spg).
Overall, when you look at his statistics as a freshman compared to when he was a sophomore, you see two entirely different players.
These days, Mann is an excellent self-creator, needing assists on just 17.4 percent of his field goals at the rim. He also attempted three times as many jump shots off the dribble (107) than off of the catch (31), which is a higher degree of difficulty. On his pull-ups, he averaged 1.06 points per possession, which ranked in the 90th percentile among all D-I players, per Synergy.
Mann is a guard with an excellent handle and dribble package who can drive and create space, using screens with confidence. Considering all of the natural talents that you can see when you watch him play even in a single highlight, he projects as a solid pick in the first round.

His finishing does need to improve, but his left hand is still pretty strong from what I’ve seen. He’a not that quick or explosive but we’ve seen time and time again how guards with his skill set can still be a big impact.

I want to right this kid off, but his shot is too mesmerizing. I know the Knicks already have IQ, but you can't have too many shooters.

I think there will be too much variance in picks 10-30 to lock in on only two players. Realistically, the Knicks should have a list about 10 players long for picks 19 and 20. I'm pretty sure hunt will be there at 58, but the other guys? Who knows?

I just started to watch this video and whoever the PG is for the first clip should be shot. I don't know how you can miss a pass to a guy that is completely wide open near the rim that badly.

I’m not opposed to Murphy and I’m still on the Jared Butler train. I think a Mann or a Bouknight should be the priority but I wouldn’t fault the Knicks for taking a look at this guy.

I think he ranks in the top percentile for pull up #s which I believe many scouts consider a good indicator of success

Yeah, I'm not sure if he's that slow, or just methodical. But a number of scouts have labeled him a decent athlete, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Hope is that he will work on it when he gets stashed.

If this guy is available at 19 or 21, he has to be a Knick. Pluses outweigh the negatives, and gives us a replacement for Frank or Bullocks rather quickly.

Lmao watched it again and yeah even the guy under the hoop was like “why didn’t you pass me the ball.”
Flip side want to bring up Murphy again as a zone defense breaker. Not that anyone can break zone defense on their own, but shooting the three just like in the video, cutting aggressively to the basket from the corner is how you break zone defenses.
Here is a breakdown of his game, they have him as a Wing-4 but realistically he is a traditional SF. The fear of him getting use to contact on drives and finishing through it was a real valid concern, but reading about his character, time in Virginia, and the type of team he should be on made me immediately think of Knicks. The teams they suggest is Nuggets and Mavs, because they have bigs who distribute so he can work off ball as a complementary wings.
Philly fans seems to like him to for a front court of Embiid and Simmons that could use some more shooting from the wing (like the Knicks). The Knicks aren’t mentioned but with two picks 19 and 21 they should grab him. PG is a need true, but thanks to KP we got two picks in this kids range.
I think he could be a real good fit next to RJ and Randle. His size would mean teams have to put a defender on him cause he’ll shoot otherwise, and he should have gravity on the court to make doubling harder for opposing teams, and driving easier for RJ and Randle.
If we grab a Beal or Lavine, he becomes the third wing in the rotation and an entirely different look next to Lavine/Beal and RJ when the other sits.

That 6’11 height with a 6’10 wingspan isn’t great either.
His measurements have been all over the place. I think his height wingspan might be neutral base on other Euro reports. The big thing is the lateral movement and strength.

One mans big board. I really respect this guys analysis and if you guys have free time and have bball draft on your mind, I’d implore you to check his individual scouting reports. I think he’s a bit too high on Moody,Johnson, and Barnes but everything else seems quite close to mine.
