Knicks · Great interview with Channing Frye (Our old favourite rookie!) (page 1)

Loved watching this interview, especially when he was talking about what happened when Larry Brown was coach (around the 12min mark):
He was the KP of his day in terms of going from hostility when he was drafted, to loved when he played well his first year. Think BRIGGS never forgave IT for drafting him over Bynum . Flamed out really quickly for us and we ended up trading him for Zach Randolph, then had a reprieve at the end of his career with the Suns and the Cavs

Who is the interviewer CP?
JesseDark@ 11/26/2020 3:34 PM
WOW he really is blunt on Larry Brown, never heard a player speak so truthful.

Also gave good insight into thought processes of the young players as well. Gods interview.

Larry Brown's behaviour that season was ridiculous (sounds even more so from that interview)- did we definitely find out out whether he was deliberately tanking to get rid of IT, or was he losing the plot?

So glad this was said out loud...AND BY SOMEONE LIKE CHANNING FRYE!!! If this was S.Marbury or N.Robinson it would have been disregarded and ignored.
That Larry Brown hiring never made sense to me and only reaffirmed my suspicions that Dolan was forcing Thomas to make these big name hires and trades.

Thanks for listening and posting these for us, the more the merrier

He is retired. When he said he was almost 40 I realized, time flies. I remember drafting him like it was yesterday. Does that mean that I am older too? Nah , that cannot be right lol

Larry Brown was our worst coach in the last 30 years.
A bad coach fails to get the best out of his players. A Horrible coach brings his players down a notch and makes everyone worse.
Larry Brown was interested more in self-aggrandizing and trying trying to take over Isiah Thomas' role than actually coaching a basketball team and developing talent.
Larry Brown ran Marbury out of the NBA... He was absolutely horrible...

Yes.. awful. Dolan forced him on to Isiah. A HOF coach fresh off two trips to the finals and a long history of success absolutely ruined a winning Roster? Hardly. Disaster hiring but Larry’s intent was to win. Of course he wanted Marbles out but it was not him who ran him out. It was another HOFer that was MDA. Get history right. (MDA will be one day for his contribution for his euro playing and coaching, as well as longevity and winning in the NBA. Its the “basketball HOF”, not just NBA) Larry kicked him the curb in the olympics.

Brown's was nice, from what I remember. Not Natasha nice, but could get it. I'll give Brown that. I'll never forgive him for making lil Nate cry.

Brown did a bad job here. Yes the roster sucked. Marbury sucked. But Brown was a vindictive douche
