Knicks · I dont like thinking like this but its in our best interest if Doncic brakes an ankle early in year (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 12/11/2020 9:15 AM
horrible thought but it would be best for NY Knick fans. He would recover and wed have two top 5 picks

Old news. See the "Worse Contract going forward? KP's or Kemba's" thread.

And I have a feeling Cuban's smart enough to cobble something together to at least make the playoffs, since there's no utility in tanking.

MS @ 12/11/2020 10:09 AM
This topic almost deserves its own thread.

KP is missing the first month of the season the Mavericks per ESPN have the 6th toughest schedule to start the season. Luka is obviously a top 5 player, but all they added was Josh Richardson and Josh Green in the draft.

There is a real possibility with the West as tough as it is they could miss the playoffs.

OKC is out, the Suns take there place. Portland is much better and healthier so they will move up from the 8th spot. Dallas finished 7th.

You have Golden State in the mix who will likely be in and Houston is the only other team that could potentially fall out.

Minnesota with Rubio, Edwards will be improved, Memphis is on the rise, nothing is given in the West.

It is pretty easy to sprain an ankle and with the short season all bets are in off. And the Knicks are due a little luck from the basketball gods. Two lottery picks to the young core of Obi, Mitch and Barrett improve.

Milwaukee isn’t looking so hot.

So are we all talk or is someone going to get a voodoo priest involved or something?
BigDaddyG @ 12/11/2020 12:13 PM
It's bad Karma to wish for something like this. With my luck, it would backfire and he ends winning MVP. In the other hand, I wouldn't be terribly upset if Luka had to miss an extended period of time due to a successful, injury recovery
Vmart @ 12/11/2020 12:16 PM
My goodness have we all lost it. To wish ill for someone why not wish that he demands a trade to the Knicks instead.

There you go! And Giannis follows him here, and then Harden begs forgiveness and asks to play for just the MLE. Then Kawhi tells PG to eff himself and his contract and comes over as well...

Happy Starphuch of Christmas dreams!

Let's be honest, we're all quietly hoping this happens but don't want to say it out loud in case of bad karma and not wanting to be a dick We've all become desperate!

I hope it happens.

Why not just shoot down Dallas's plane?

THink about it:

1. We win the trade for all eternity.
2. KP never plays another game.
3. Phuch sprained ankle on Luka! Just eliminate all ankles completely!

We obviously keep our pick and the odds are just great. We might lose a player in some expansion type draft but that's a small price to pay.
Sarcasm guys. Im not serious. that would be awful..

BRIGGS @ 12/11/2020 2:25 PM
Im only in on this if its a 100% recovery and he comes back with ten games left!

This is not wishing ill on anyone--this is for the mental status of a million Knick fans.

I mean, and I'm speaking hypothetically here, how feasible would be this? I was thinking more along the lines of the Putin playbook and hiring a Russian escort to leverage throughout the season. Then we put the screws on at All-Star break and start blackmailing him.

At face value the pick is great for us. Looks like a pretty deep draft class and if things stay status quo we will have a 2nd pick in the late teens and there are always some good prospects left on the boards (especially when its your 2nd first rounder of the night)

For once the Knicks are in a position to get lucky. Dallas can easily fall short and KP missing time certainly hurts. They could be a late lottery team and get lucky and earn us a top 5 pick. Or they could get hot and the pick is in the 20s. There will be water if god wills it. The key thing is to watch Kentucky and hope they are great to see who we draft with it

This. Covid restrictions fever.

The injury thing isn’t something I want to see.

Dallas having drama and missing the playoffs to maximize the pick is good enough for me. KP’s brother can be a drama queen.

In the same breath I am hoping Wall/Cousins/Wood can put it together, with or without Harden, to (I) Make Morey look silly and (II) give Dallas some whoopings.

If I can get Ben Simmons and two number 1 picks I would do it in a heartbeat. I do not trust harden on rockets

Can’t see the Sixers giving up Simmons and 2 #1s for Harden. Though I do see Morey moving Simmons.

For us, I am certainly a “Anyone but Dallas” for the next year.

It is feasible. Porzinglass has horrible knees and Luka - as great as he is - has a history of ankle problems

This is your worst thread ever. I can't believe you just wish for a player (who never said a single bad word about the knicks) to injure himself for the benefit of your team.

That's just selfish and stupid, not to mention that Anytime you wish bad on someone the exact opposite usually happens

Look at you all high and might as you stick pins in Franks groin to prove your own righteous agenda!

I don’t actually wish Luka to get hurt but the sinful thought has crossed my head. Anyone criticizing Briggs for this definitely had the thought cross their heads too. It’s human nature. Don’t lie to yourself if the thought didn’t cross your head. The only difference is Briggs is saying it out loud.

Stop being all sanctimonious on this subject. You all thought of it at one point.
