Tommy's cherry picker stat of the night
I think it is glaringly obvious we will be terrible every game IQ misses. Our main need for most of my adult life has been a good PG. The team plays like an actual NBA caliber team whenever he plays. I don't know if it is because he is a really good player or if it is because he is the only semblance of PG we have.
The longer we keep Frank, DSJ and Elf on the team without signing another competent PG shows me we want to tank this year. If we can see the problem I am sure the GM's and coaches who are paid Millions a years can see it also. If all three of their play don't improve by mid Jan I would trade and if we can't do that cut all 3. Enough of putting out this crap product on the court. I can't watch this anymore.
Just not enough contributors out there....
Mitch has to grow the fuck up. Stop being just an athlete and start being a basketball player

It doesn’t take an athlete to fall for a pump fake. That’s pure reactionary/stupidity to go with good offense.
It’s clear thar Mitch just hasn’t made an effort to fix these things in the past.
He also looked physically weak compared to Sabonis. If he had any base strength, he wouldn’t have been so abused by a single bump the way he was in the first quarter, where everyone thought Sabonis fouled him offensively.
PS: Sabonis might be one of my top 5 players in the league, outside of the Knicks. That guy is a monster.

I'll pick that cherry even more...
...And the ONLY one to do it in front of no crowd during a pandemic...
There...Chew on that, LeBron.
Let the Tank begin!!
Good game for RJ! I trust in RJ and Quickley and Burk. The rest of these scrubs need to get their game on.

dude when did it ever stop,..thats all we know
It just goes to show you how important a good PG is in today’s NBA. quick came in and the team went on a rampage, Quick went out and the team looked like bottom of the barrel garbage. Payton played awful on both ends of the floor.
After watching again they constantly went under screens with elf smothered our shooters and scorers leaving elf wide open it was literally 4 vs 5 when we had the ball with elf on the court. And why should they guard him? he’s a g leagues offensive player... I would have rather put Jared Harper out there at least he can stretch the floor.
The difference when quick was in the game was eye opening, he challenged the defense on and off the ball it was like he opened the floor for everyone, telling teammates where to go constantly talking on both sides of the ball... this kids got the IT factor a true leader/floor general .
Quick is what this team has been missing for 20+ years. Seriously other then washed up pgs like Billips, old mark jackson, grand pa Kidd . When was the last time we had a serious young floor general? Lin... I wouldn’t consider him a floor general but during linsanity he played out of his mind .
I’m not saying he’s a superstar yet, but the kid knows how to run a team and that’s something we’ve been missing for a long time.

I agree with that. Every scouting report is gonna read give him a pump fake to get him in foul trouble.

True but honestly some of the calls on him were ridiculous. His first two fouls were horrible. The first one Dabonis barrels into him and the second one he got all ball
Sabonis has been killing the knicks for yrs..They PnR us to death with him. This is going all the way back to when JH was coaching.

He has to learn how to sell a foul. Sabonis lowering his shoulder should have been the perfect time to flop. I mean even Mase and Oak sold those. He can also learn how to pull the chair. I know I know. I am showing my age. I would even pull that fookers shorts if it would help me.

Selling the foul is a nice tool to have in your arsenal - but I don't think against an established player Mitch is gonna get that call. Sometimes the calls are just not gonna go your way.
Mitch's problem isn't the 50/50 foul it's the ones when he clearly fouls because he's too aggressive. He really does not have that much basketball experience. Hopefully, with experience, he'll play smarter

Basketball experience didn't seem to matter for Noah. There's a reason Sabonis is an all star.

Quick was playing well and controlling us, but the Pacers have been over us all game long and as good teams do, the moment the opposition let the guard down, they attacked.
We are just a young team losing to a better one.
I disagree I think the pacers are garbage - sabonis
Without quick they were able to play all over us
They are well coached, they are scrappy and active on defense. Sabonis is a headache and they have shooters. Oladipo is there too. They aren’t garbage at all.
I don’t know, I think this game was totally winnable if quick didn’t get injured... again if sabonis is out they are garbage
It was winnable, depending on the Knicks keeping toe-to-toe with the Pacers, and they had done with a blazing three-point shooting that wasn’t sustainable. We did have a chance, but I think it was more complicated than losing Quick. We could never stop Sabonis or any of their penetration, which made imperative to answer every run constantly and our offense is prone for droughts because of our suspect shooting.
We got a perfect first half out of the team. They have lots of potential. But they are young and it’s expected for them to be up and down in their production.
I thought this game went south when we stopped playing centers and there was zero rim protection. Everyone was free to attack and they did. Why did we go small and not play Mitch or Noel?

Sabonis is a beast, Mitch and Noel really pissed tibs off to ride the pine for the end of the game .. it was evident our production went way down hill after quick went out. Our interior defense was awful in the second half, and they were able to pounce on defense knowing our pg couldn’t do jack. It was good coaching on there part to attack our weakness in the second half.
Def a winnable game with a pg that can spread the floor ... we would of had to keep knocking down our open looks and made more stops on the other end.
Regardless it’s gonna be a fun year watching the youth development.

The Knicks should have given D.Angelo Jordan a 3 to 4 yr extension to be an asset for the growth of MitchRob's future.
I didn't understand Thibs not giving MitchRob or Noel playing-time in the 4th qtr., they both had 3 fouls each.
I really didn't need to see Randle playing Hero-ball in the 4th qtr of our first game.
