Knicks · We play with no pg (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 12/26/2020 8:46 PM
Who’s the pg?
Did we have a pg out there?
Is Julius Randle the pg?
What gives
Allanfan20 @ 12/26/2020 8:48 PM
We don’t have one.
ramtour420 @ 12/26/2020 8:56 PM
I was just thinking that too watching the end of 1st half against the sixers. RJ initiates the play usually. He plays the role of a PG. The ball is in his hands, like say Harden's. That's the blueprint I think. We saw that with better ball distribution ( Quickley get well , well , quickly) this team is completely different. If/when RJ spots up, man. He shot so we'll when Quickley was feeding him the ball.

TT is a shytty coach here for the checks.

Have we started this already? Always the coach's fault. How about this is a young inexperienced and not terribly talented team -- with no good PG.

Saving the spot for Cade/Suggs

He was given the keys to the Wolves and ran them into the ground. What is he going to do with the Knicks. We don’t have a Towns and Butler

Knixkik @ 12/26/2020 9:25 PM
It will have to be Quickley when healthy. We are the worst at that position in the league with Payton.

Dude, this franchise has been chewing up and spitting out coaches for 20+ years! They are not ALL bad!
Wilkens, Cheney, Brown, MDA, Woodson, Thibs, plus half a dozen others. Average lifespan < 2 years.
We gotta have some continuity with a plan and stop resetting everything every couple of years.

That is the problem we keep running after names when Miller was as good or better for this team.

Panos @ 12/26/2020 9:33 PM
Also, as Briggs says in his other rant thread, at this point, its just gotta be the owner.
Its the only consistent thing over the past 20 years.
I don't know what he's doing, but the fish stinks from the head down.
franco12 @ 12/26/2020 9:40 PM
Emmanual Mudiay still available? If Frank is health and can't get off the bench here, then we should do the smart thing and release him to create a roster spot.

Frank is paying the price for firing Leon Rose.

I just think they don’t think he’s very good at this point. He hasn’t added anything to his game since his rookie year.

Knixkik @ 12/26/2020 9:57 PM
So they couldn’t give Teague 1 year 10 mil? Not saying that’s a good option, but bringing back Payton is the best they could do for a stopgap? Quickley may turn out to be a good PG, but it’s not like they were expecting that coming in. This PG situation is just unreal for an nba team.

You have a defensive coach and a defensive minded PG and they cannot find common ground. There is more to this than that. It has to do with Leon. He can’t get over his ego.

Thank you ! It really felt like we were turning the corner for once.

houston20 @ 12/26/2020 10:07 PM
Terry rozier for 2023 first pick or mudiay.

The answer will be given next season. Frank does well on a new team then the Knicks F’D up. If he doesn’t crack the rotation then that’s the answer.

But you are right. He was playing really well for Miller toward the end of last season.

I don’t believe so. I think thibs likes his PGs to score and that’s Frank’s weakness. I think we have to assume Frank just doesn’t do anything that sets him apart from Payton and smith.

If you’re a 90’s Knick’s guy you will know that Charlie ward, Derek Harper, Doc Rivers Were not scoring PG but defensive pgs. Doc and Harper having similar size as Frank. And truth be told they were veterans on their last stints of the NBA. Frank in the other hand is still young and gives the same defensive efforts as this previously mentioned. So I find it hard to believe the TT can’t find use for a defensive minded PG like Frank. As for Rose he was rare talent and he was a scorer. But he had him on the T- Wolves and basically did nothing with him. Remember he ran his team into the ground.
