Phil had nothing to do with this. 2016 we swapped picks with Nuggs as part of the Melo trade February 2011. Soon to be 10 years since.
Since we picked 7th and Denver 9th, they exercised the swap.

But we had 7 seasons of Melo, right? Thats not the point really. Jrod can chime in on that one.
The point is we traded the pick for Bargnani. Remember the 5 Knicks that retired after we won 54 games that we all so revered? Well Knicks (Let’s not blame anyone since nobody gets this right anyway) traded the pick for Bargnani. So this was not about Denver swapping. This was about trying to keep respectability. While some like to blame Grunwald, the fact was the trade was done because our talent was so thin from the Melo trade and subsequent age of the team. It was unsustainable. The rest we know like the back of our hand.
I’d like to think we would have run Murray out of town anyway instead of waiting 4 years for him to blow up.
As much as fan’s think they know shit, we have hindsight and get to think we do. We’d suck at this.

I didn’t see it liked that but then I don’t keep a vigil, Shrine or petition campaign to the Vatican for Melo’s sainthood. My obsession is a fair and just balance of Frank critics and making sure we maintain no fake news.

I've left politics far behind. I live in the woods, work from home at a pointless corporate job all the time now and have had no TV reception at all since 9-11. I listen to ultra liberal NPR for shits and giggles and read alot. Racism is for retards, in any shape or form, and in any direction. So is the never-ending victim mentality, the insipid reality show cult of personality this culture seems infatuated with, and the complete lack of logical coherence almost everyone seems to lean on with an almost fanatical desperation.
