Looking forward to getting Burks back too.
HE took his meds and now euphoric.
Rivers=Rivers
Knox= Charles Smith? Despite that one play, Smith didn't have a bad game. I think he would've thrived if he played today, assuming his knees held up.

LJ/Oak/Mase 3-some. He's got the LJ spin moves, the Oakley rebounding and Mason's below the rim scoring game. Best part is he's defending and rebounding like its the most important job and that is our team ID.
Same coach

Hey, let's go easy. LJs spins were reassuring. Randle's spins can get him from point A to points B, or point A to points unknown.

To points for his teammates. The spinovers have metamorphosed into spinassists.

I'm not going to try to compare players - but i do see elements of this team, and it is early, and the 99 knick team that over achieved in the strike shorted season, and then also i am thinking of Don Chaney's knick squad that over achieved.
Not an exact match, since they played different positions....but Rivers role on thus team feels like John Starks. You either love him or hate him. River is on a high right now. And hopefully we have him at his best. Becasue he can also be turnover prone. Just like Starks. But Rivers has that fire and especially in the Atlanta game, with key defensive plays and key 3pt shot. Both had similar momentum type plays and impacts on the team, from a guard position.
Rivers and Quickley is a very interesting pair. Is that like Childs and Starks?

Neither one could shoot from even mid-range
Oak did develop a shot the last year he was here
Id like to see this team go back to the 90s no layups rule.. Very surprised no one knocks tre young on his ass.

Mase developed his one handed jumper/free throw shot and handled the rock like a beast in his later years with the Knicks. Dang, just thinking back to Mase - that guy was jacked liked a bodybuilder.
Randle is like the best of parts of Mase/LJ in a taller package + more TO's. Neither Mase nor Knick LJ could score the way Randle can.
(Oakley had his violent hand swipes, grabs and finger pointing, his signature mid-range jumper and his 1-2 signature full court passes that sailed out into the stands. Randle doesn't have any of these tendencies.)

Wed, January 6, 2021, 10:45 AM EST·1 min readAlec Burks' ankle injury just continue to hold him off the court, as the Knicks announced on Wednesday that the veteran is now in a walking boot.
Further testing on the left ankle showed that Burks needed. a boot and he will be evaluated once again in 7-10 days.

yep

Yeah I think Randle/LJ is a better comp
If LJ played during this era he would be more valuable even after the back injury
Speaking about 90s knicks toughness, what about signing PJ Tucker next summer on a 1-year overpay
C Robinson/ Toppin
PF Randle/ Tucker
SF Barrett/ Kispert (2021 knicks pick)/ Knox
SG Rivers/ Burks
PG Quickley/ Payton/ 2021 dallas pick
