Watching a replay of our game I got the Carolina game feed. The commentators said that GH was roommates with their current coach, what's his name. Anyway, they also said that it played a big role as far as when it came for GH to pick a team to sign with. So we never had a chance to sign him because of that, just like most other teams.
Another thing I noticed, Kevin Knox looks so good making those 3's. Wearing #20. It brings back memories of Allan Houston. So awesome
I think his enormous contract has more to do with his signing than his acquaintances on his team. Charlotte may seem like a better team now but they are a fringe playoff team with not much room to improve.
Gordon wold have been a great addition. We set a price and he exceeded it. Good for him and good for us for sticking to a plan of not over paying. Gordon is in the prime of his powers and how ever he fit he would have been great. Injuries and durability to be decided by experience via hindsight. AKA: remains to be seen.

This. The kind of money he is getting he is expected to take a team to the playoffs. Let's see.

They all are. Let’s just say that when healthy this kid is fantastic. What happened n Boston was what it was. At $100 mil he might have been here. At $120 he took the money. Maybe NYC in a pandemic was not his cup of tea either married with young kids.
They no doubt have exceeded in this young season. That they moved Bridges to the bench and kept the back court of Graham and Rozier (for now) on the court and bringing Lamelo off the bench.
Charlotte was after him before he went to Boston so there is history even before the hired their current coach.
If he plays well and they don’t make the playoffs its not on him. Its on the rest of the team and the chemistry. Question is does his chemistry make others better or detract?
I’m not going to kick him to the curb because he did not sign with us. Leon set parameters to his value and when it exceeded we were done or did he reject us?
Let’s be real also, its not a matter is a player “Tough enough or made for NY”. Some of them just don’t want the bull Shyt that comes with it. At some point we’ll have positive momentum but If IM Haywood after all that happend in Boston I can’t say that savior starphuch thing we do in Knickland would be appealing. I am hopeful that knicks can turn things around in two years and be relevant at some level and that makes us an attractive destination.

Their cap will be at around $70M next offseason and they have Ball coming off the bench right now.... they got plenty of room to improve.

Exactly, and they have PJ washington too.
It was all about the Benjamins, GH didn't come out and say it, but he did say it was very close because he was big on our coaching staff which had his boy Johnny Bryant.

I'm less optimistic than you about their future. They have 50M tied to Rozier and Hayward and like 6 players under contract next year.
They are a better team than the Knicks but I don't see any game changer signing with them.
