Knicks · How in the hell can the Nets get 3 superstars and for 20 years we are still on our azz (page 1)

Papabear Says

This is getting crazy. We can't get a half a star. What good is it getting all these 1st round pick and we still are in the hole.
Right now we have a team that can't shoot and now all of our 1st round pics for the last 3 years seem questionable. It still looks like
we are still a bunch of loosers, guys can't even shoot the damn ball. what's our excuse now??

Papabear @ 1/13/2021 4:27 PM
Martim please fix the word still
BigDaddyG @ 1/13/2021 4:28 PM
I guess you're not buying Melo, KP or Randle's recent improvements?
smackeddog @ 1/13/2021 4:50 PM
They are three of the most unlikeable players in the league- two of them outright quit on their teams, 2 went out partying vs Covid rules, endangering their teammates and one of them is a huge cry baby. They are all supremely talents, but man, are they hard to root for
Nalod @ 1/13/2021 7:04 PM
Nets sucked it up and built with Harris, Dinwiddie, Allen, and LaVert. It was thru dilligence and good old fashioned patience.
They hired a GM that told then Ownership he needed 5 years and no starphuch. They made good use of moving Bropez for D'angelo Russell and elevated him to an allstar.
Atkinson was the righ man for the right time.
They are to be commended. While they now have a Trio of social malcontents and won't be asked to be a televison game show host any time soon they can ball.
Philc1 @ 1/14/2021 6:16 AM
Because Kyrie Irving is friends with Jay-Z

Knicks just have to stick with the plan. Make smart draft picks like IQ and Mitch and develop

Uptown @ 1/14/2021 7:38 AM
Short answer: Player empowerment has allowed players to team up and dictate where they will play. Unfortunately, none of these guys seemingly want to play for Dolan's franchise.

Which is why drafting well is important and playing to players strengths. Randle and RJ don’t fit at all and a smart team would look to move one of them to build around the other.

Knicks will want to look like they aren’t losers and not maximize their assets......or panic trade like Mills did. which in turn will make them losers

xblvdels3 @ 1/14/2021 8:36 AM
If the nets don’t win it all it was a waist. If we are going to bash the Knicks for not trading the entire roster for 1 player then we should criticize all the teams with 2 or 3 stars that failed.

Yeah but they got a 3 year window to try.... maybe more. If we’re lucky we’ll be playoff bound by then

Kyrie and harden will sabotage the chemistry

xblvdels3 @ 1/14/2021 8:43 AM
Ok let’s do it! Trade everyone and all our picks for 1 player 😅

Who is this guy we are getting?

Randle is a all star bucket. He puts up superstar numbers. But he is not wanted here?

Idk..... part of me really wonders did Kyrie go on strike to force them to trade for Harden.

Anyhow I am tired of hoping other teams implode. We need to just get better, or if not better short term on track to be better long term.

We have an all star named Julius Randle but nobody wants him or liked him. Irony

Randle is not the problem. RJ is right now. He is not delivering.

xblvdels3 @ 1/14/2021 8:48 AM
We are losing because other teams have better proficient 3 point shooters than us.

We need a backup center who can shoot and can score in the post.

I’m looking at luka Garza in the second round

StarksEwing1 @ 1/14/2021 8:52 AM
The Knicks are doing the right thing. We used to make panic moves for many years and regretted it. The Bets once again mortgaged their whole future and I think it will blow up in their face again. None of these guys are exactly young and they have dealt with injuries too especially Irving
xblvdels3 @ 1/14/2021 8:54 AM
Luka Garza everyone 10 min a game. Not very athletic on nba level. But what he can do is get a bucket with ease down low and knock down a 3. We need more guys who can shoot!

Quickley was my second round pick last year. All the guys in the second round at best are combo guards like rivers. Maybe 1 or 2 of them can surprise and play on level like donavan mitchel. Other than that the pick is Garza of you don’t believe one of those combo guards can be great

He can also pass from down low also!

Also has real nba man weight at 260 6-11

The speed and his lack lateral movement on the perimeter in the nba is his deficiency. Our coaching staff can make him adequate defensively. But his ability to knock down a “shot” get a bucket is what we need!

MS @ 1/14/2021 11:28 AM
Kyrie Irving is not a superstar. Period.

We got Stephon Marbury, there is no difference between the two. Lebron James can get anyone to the NBA finals. Kryie had a good two weeks, made a great shot in game 7, that's were it end. Outside of that what has he done? He can get you 50 in a loss. Destroy team chemistry. Boston did fine without him. No one is more toxic in the entire league. He's taking a social justice break? You're making $34MM, you're always injured, yea the world is a real unfair place for you. How about your teammates, coaches the organization that's paying you to take night off and then leave the team?

We could have had James Harden if we wanted him for Obi, RJ, Knox, the dallas picks and our first rounder this year, the question is do you really want him. He's insane, but again he was the one that pushed the rockets to trade for CP3, pushed them to trade for Westbrook. The team built the roster for him, he showed up late to practices, team flights.

Good for the Nets. Durant looks great, but if he gets injured there fucked. The did the exact same thing that got them in this mess the first time around.

We may suck now, but given our two picks this year things will begin to change very quickly.

That or go on strike because they are trading for Harden. Kyrie needs the ball in his hands. With Harden that's not gonna happen. I can understand why he would be upset
