We can get a helluva lot better in return for Randle next summer

No Bamba..... Orlando needs a pg, we got PGs.

On the low the Knicks want a big who can stretch the floor and Mo Bamba stretches the floor.

A center duo of Mitch/Mo could be something really good in a few years.

Have you seen Mo play this year? Last year he had COVID and his recovery was one of the worst for NBA players

He played recently in garbage time in a game Orlando got blown out of

7-8 fg %

Now it’s not elite, because this was in garbage time, but potentially I think he could be groomed to be Mitch’s back up. Orlando really doesn’t know what to do with him.

Regardless of Thibs rotations Noel and Taj aren’t long term. Mo potentially could be

So that response skirts my question, avoids recognizing that Mo probably has career limiting COVID infection (and could be damaged forever), and then shows stats from the one game he played OK for 12 minutes of garbage time?

And this is the reasoning?

Don't flirt with me man, give it to me hard

Jimbo5 @ 2/8/2021 7:31 PM
Speaking of Orlando, would you take a chance on an injured player? Is there a way we can trade for Jonathan Isaac? Maybe send Payton and knox with a 2nd rounder for Isaac? Before he got injured he was finally getting his footing.

You realize I am talking about trading them Payton right?

Nothing you’ve said has convinced me Knicks aren’t winning that trade as described..... in fact it’s probably because of those reasons the trade works for both sides.

Knicks/Allers style is make small moves, get slightly better pieces in a build up to a better trade.

I would do this trade in a second. However If Denver is willing to trade him for Obi it would mean they have no plans to extend him. They must think his back is shot.If he is healthy there would be zero chance a competent franchise like the Nuggets would make this trade.

This....I can't see Denver making this trade. I would also be a little surprised if Leon trades his first lotto pick so soon. With that said, if this is on the table, if you are the Knicks, you pull the trigger. I don't trust the source, though...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

OMG we would be getting raped.

Porter for Obi would be an incredible pump and dump for Denver. Porter is a talented kid with a broken back. Obi is going to have a good career. Porter is an NBA player with a shot back. Please no... Please. Want to take a shot? They can have Austin Rivers and the Detroit pick. Pick 31 is worth a shot at getting Porter healthy and playing a role. Obi is NOT worth that.

I am immensely interested in acquiring Michael Porter Jr but I am looking to base an offer around Kevin Knox...

yeah, I am also not interested in given in throwing the keys over to the guy that might break any second

Knox.... now there is an idea. I like KK but he's been here 3 years and been given a lot of chances.

Do we get to give Porter a physical?

yup. No way we give them Obi. Now Kevin Knox. I say yes.

Move Payton to LAC or UTah, both need a competent backup PG. Try to grab a 2nd round pick or a prospect.

I guess I'm just not as high on Obi as you are.

First off, we are not utilizing or playing to Obi's strengths. Obi is an open court player and we are either dead last or near last in offensive pacing. Obi is also a great finisher whether it be off the pick n roll and or receiving a pass in the the dunker spot off dribble penetration by a pg, things that we are not doing for him. We are using him as a floor spacer which is something he is capable of but its not a strength.

Second, if Julius continues to play at an all-star level, he will be extended. On this team and with this Coach, Obi is looking to be a 12-15 min per game rotational player. He doesn't handle the ball well enough to create his own offense nor is he big enough to play the 5. At least, Thibs doesn't seem to think he's big enough.

Third, I watched every single Nuggets game in the playoffs last year. Porter Jr. has the potential to be an allstar for years to come. He's a 6'10 wing that can create his own shot and can space the floor as a shooter and is a pure scorer. He's 22 (younger than Obi) so he fits the timeline with RJ, Randle, Quick, Mitch, etc. I get the concerns about his back. I posted a link below in which a doctor address these concerns. Of course there are varying opinions on it so take that for what its worth.

Lastly, if I'm Denver, I'm not trading Porter for Obi. Porter has much more potential, imo. I think Obi will look a lot better on a team that pushes the pace and has a PG that can pass-his-teammates-open rather than passes to the open man. Look at what Lamelo Ball is doing for Miles Bridges...A team like that will utilize his potential and at the same time may cover up some of his flaws.
