Good news for the Knicks i guess.
I do think they need to further limit the number of picks you can trade, I don’t think it’s fair to future fans of a franchise. Kind of like environmental destruction.
This is good news for knicks the smaller the market..the better leverage they have...
Teams being locked out draft capital wise makes the teams with existing draft capital more valuable....
Yeah one of the bigger issues in the league is that draft picks have essentially become devalued because there isn't a lot of young talent that can make an impact coming to the league and the lottery basically means that even if your team is really bad there's no guarantee that you're going to get a great prospect.
It isn't even Superstar trades either. We just saw the Bucks give away three of these things for an above average point guard that isn't an all star.
I disagree draft picks if you hit is part of cost controlled talent.....having 3-4 max players long term is not sustainable....a ream boxes themselves in....teams salvage for picks for the opportunity to have a devin book, Tatum, Zion, mordant...etc at a low number...bring in talent then in RFA throw them the Max...ATL is doing that with Tre Young....you give him and Collins $$ at their current value....you can’t make the moves they did this offseason...
There is nowhere in this universe 1st rounders are devalued....Brooklyn had to pay to play.....the Bucks did it for the Freak...Jrue is not bringing in that haul unless a team is desperate....que the bucks that took a big L in the bubble....teams want more of the picks or swaps to get more chances to hit on the pick...
I want to stay out of this campo for us
I think the Knicks were the first team to throw draft picks and pick swaps around like nothing. Its one thing if youre getting Lebron but almost anyone else is gonna be questionable. I dont mind trading a restricted number 1 etc.. BUT not willing to give up 6 draft seasons for one player
Knicks are finally doing the right thing. From 2000-15 we threw away draft picks like candy and lived to regret it. Now we accumulate draft picks and even use our cap space to gain future assets. Draft picks are extremely important in a salary cap league

Giving us too much credit. We weren't even smart enough to do swaps. At least Isaiah was smart enough to get some picks back when taking in monstrous contracts. Of course he'd go ahead and give those back for bums. I'll give Phil some credit for stopping the madness on that front.
