Knicks · Knicks interested in D. Rose....Again! (page 9)

I like this take
I'm looking at this like the Jeff Teague move in Minnesota. Hope I'm wrong. At best, this move is a 40 degree day.

Terrible for frank, he gets moved further down the bench, while Dsj will be able to get plenty of PT
in Detroit. Is there any point where we take into account not a single coach has seen enough in Frank to develop him as a PG (I hear from Hahn that the Knicks were trying to get him playing time a a defensive wing and he refused to play anything but PG) and actually start to blame Frank for not helping himself by being doing anything possible to be able to consistently get on the floor and then putting up productive minutes once he gets there?
Thibs was supposed to be the perfect coach for him and look.
That sounds fishy. Struggling players on rookie contracts don't dictate where they are playing. Heck, Fiz did try Frank at wing. Just trade or waive the dude.

I’d love to think this way.
Yet the way Thibs coaches, the way he has used Quickley lately and the way he uses veterans tells me this is to use Rose as much as he wants.
Knicks playing best defense in league, overachieving with wins, and IQ is the surprise rookie this year playing 19 minutes a game.
Guess we got to complain about something.... that hasn’t even happened
....but Thibs rotations suck, Frank needs to play more, and Thibs doesn't know how to coach players he hasn't coached already!

Someone is losing minutes....Can't see Rose coming here to play the Gibson role where he may get 5-8 mins here and there. Rose is going to play.

I wish I could find it but Hahn said it on air about a month or 2 back. I'll try to find it if I can.
Thibs is playing his starters too much. Attempting to sign every living player from his Bulls days. Just like he did in Minny. But its all going to work out this time.

Interesting points brought up by Alan Hahn on KnicksFanTV tonight regarding Frank and Mitch(self)37 points submitted 2 months ago by HRdD_woo
In the case of Frank, he said that with every head coach he’s talked to or interviewed, they consistently say that they don’t know what they’re getting from him on a nightly basis. This is a reason why PGs like Jarret Jack and Mudiay were able to get playing time over him. He also brought up that Frank prefers playing on-ball in that PG role and doesn’t necessarily want to play off-ball and stand in the corner. Not sure how accurate all of this is, and I hope that Frank is able to put it together more consistently and be a team player.Regarding Mitch, there was apparently some heat to the trade rumors with GSW
Mitch + 8 for Wiggins + 2 (Wiseman)
NYK had reservations about taking on Wiggins and his contract so they never made the trade, but it seems that right now, the FO thinks that Mitch needs to mature quite a bit and they don’t see him as untouchable.
What do you think of all this? Personally, I love both Frank and Mitch and wish the best for their Knicks careers. I understand if they want to ship Frank out but I think that we should rock with Mitch and let him grow into the NBA game and mindset.

They signed Gibson and are now possibly trading Rose. Who else are they looking at?
All I know is the player pool for the Knicks to sign from is getting awfully specific. Now it is Former Bulls players that Thibs coached who played college ball at Kentucky, who were once represented by Leon Rose....

I remember when Hahn said it and I called BS then. Scrubs don't dictate where they are playing. They do whatever to get playing time. Frank has played wing under Fiz and h has played off ball in Europe. I don't see Frank bick d!$king the Knicks organization and telling them where he's going to play. I see Perry, whose used the media masterfully to leak stuff, as putting that out there to justify a Frank trade. The thing is, there is no need to justify a deal. He's not playing. Just cut or trade him and be done with it.

When a couple of Rose's teamates were in the hospital from overwork, during their playoff run.
Rose could have played, was dunking in practice, was moving well. All he talked about was his next contract.
When Rose signed with the Knicks, all he talked about was wanting a max deal.
Thats what the season was about to him, and he played like it.
Along with Noah and Quentin Richardson, he's my least favorite Knick. We might even be giving up a pick for him. Doubt this is Perry's call.
Feels like we're watching the same movie in a different town, with Thibs. I like the improvment, but it doesnt look like he's learned anything from his previous stops. Keeps wanting to live in the past.
TLover wrote:Maybe move is made with Quickly becoming a starter, Rose as 6th man and Payton getting traded.
Only thing that makes sense. However, Thibs hates Rooks on starting line up. Feel he may be eyeing Rose as starter to groom IQ. Payton makes no sense to keep. Do not see reason for the move. Do not see Rose helping our win total.

I agree as well. If it was a player that still had a future here gotcha all the way. They’ve given up on frank —They are trying to maximize this year— as long as we are reasonable about it- that’s ok by me. I want to hold the top picks however. The Detroit 2 is a deal breaker. NBA should be NDA for "NO DEVELOPMENT ALLOWED" Teams, FO's, Coaches, Fans need/demand instant success. Or else they rinse repeat until they get it.

You have every right to call B.S., but either this is true and he limited himself to one position, or out of all the coaches he has had, not a single one has seen any skill that can be utilized to help win a basketball game. And it is universally agreed that he can be an all world defender. So...either everyone is wrong about Frank's one seemingly undeniable skill, or there something else going on.
Seems to me like a textbook case of Occam's Razor. No coach has really played him anywhere but PG.

Lol! Well played.
These injuries are all stupid things. I understand guys like Curry who had bad ankles and got it fixed. This guy has the worst groin ever, and it is just constant strains and sprains, specifically at times when he is has prime opportunity to showcase himself.

It's all that matters for Frank fans. Anyone taking minutes from Frank is instant villain. Problem is that they will now need to root against IQ, Payton, Rose, and anyone else that can score over 6 points from the guard position. Have a feeling Frank and Payton are dealt as well. Hopefully we wont give up draft picks for them as well.
