Good point. I feel like he’s considered a no-stats type contributor though, he’s a defensive guy that won’t really stand out. But I agree, in NY that won’t fly. And maybe he’s not a top 10 pick in a redraft but I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt. While Haliburton isn’t a fit in Cleveland, in a redraft he may be too good to pass up because he’s an upgrade over Garland and probably a better fit with Sexton.

I agree. My list wasn't a knock on him. It's more the fact that a couple of guys moved up and i didn't see the remaining teams (Wash or Phoenix) seeing Toppin as a good fit. He would probably go just outside the top 10 in a re-draft, but i feel like Haliburton, Quickley, and Maxey really move up which pushes him down.

Deni has talent to be a very good role player, but obviously he doesn't put up big numbers and is playing on the worst team in the league, so he can't quite get that recognition yet in my mind. The big thing with guys like Quickley, Haliburton and Maxey is they are contributing to wins.
If we're taking age and perceived "upside" out of the question, Desmond Babe and Payton Pritchard probably make the list right now. Bane is shooting 52% from three!

Yeah but in a redraft we still have to take upside into account. Both those guys go higher than they were drafted no doubt.
Id put Quickley at NUMBER 3 behind Ball and Wiseman. But hes on the same level as them
Id put Quickley at the level of a burgeoning franchise player. Everything I thought that could be wrong with Quickley was absolute non sense--hes just good, But no one knew Quickley would be this--not even the Knicks.

Payton Pritchard before he hurt his knee and Kemba coming back was one of the best fundamental players in the draft. Hes really good. Top 7-8 players.

Still early but he needs lots of seasoning. Not as ready as some thought. Physically, he's 23, but basketball wise, he's very young especially when you consider he's been a post player for 3 years, if that. I know he was a pg in high school until he had a growth spurt.
The coaching staff has done a really good job of bringing Quickley along, but not so much with Obi IMO. Obi kind floats around the perimeter and is seemingly being used a floor spacer when he should be running more pick n rolls. Most of his damage in college also came on the baseline in the dunker spot but he's rarely there. Also, a great attribute that Obi brings to the table is the ability to run the floor and beat the defense down the floor before they can set-up....He was open during one sequence, be we missed him. We are either dead-last or near the bottom in fastbreak points this season. Hopefully, the coaching staff will start prioritizing running the floor and looking for Obi on leak-outs. Obi would look so much better if we pushed the tempo...or playing with a team that pushed the tempo....

I stopped @ 7...Had I made a top 10, Deni would have been in it. He's in a tough spot with Russ and Beal controlling the ball most of the time....I saw them twice and both times, he looked as though he was being used as a spot up shooter which is not his strength...

If you do put age and upside in the equation, then it's hard to even think about a re-draft now. Cassel gets a definitive edge over Bane because of upside, but Bane has been a more productive player. You can say the same thing for Edwards and Bane.

I am stunned you feel this way Briggs. I think he's a good scorer, but franchise player? wow. The knicks always seem to have a good flash in the pan scorer that then fizzles out.

What flash in the pan scorer have we had like this? Quickley is nothing like Trier and Lin. Fields wasn't a scorer, but a surprising starter who rebounded and played solid D. I don't think we have had a player anything like Quickley's level of scoring from our own draft picks. Am I missing anyone?

Where does Lou Williams end up in this draft?
I don't love the Quickley/Lou Williams comparisons though. Williams is a scoring 2-guard. Quickley looks like a PG who can also defend.
