Knicks · If rumors are true and we decide to make a move for Beal... (page 2)

People don’t understand team building. Some just know oooh that guy is flashy and can score.
Yes at some point in time in team building you can do what the nets did but we are not quite at that point yet!!
Why isn’t Beal transforming the wizards? once we give them all or so so talent is our team better than their team?We will effectively be the wizards if you make that trade and have 5 wins
If you believe Beal is so magical go be a wizards fan and enjoy 😊
I Think the knicks will have enough cap this off season to absorb at least 70% of his salary.
But im sure it would take RJ and two possible three 1st rnd picks

I'm curious what others think is Beal's value and what we should realistically give up for him (provided we do end of trading for him)?To me, he's not worth that much as he's already 27, a little smallish and is already limited by minutes due to injury/knee history. Get that he's a great outside shooter but when I hear people saying Harden like value (3 or 4 1st round picks) - that seems crazy to me.
If we are trading for Beal - I'd say Randle, Frank, Knox, Payton and 2 1st rd picks (1 Dallas) for Beal and Ish Smith would be my limit. (They may laugh but that's as far as I would go if we are certain to trade for Beal)
So question: Is it not a sideways deal that doesn't really get you better when you trade your best player AND picks and other assets?
What is this deal really getting you? Beal is regarded as better than Julius but is older, cost more.
I agree 100%, doesn't seem like Beal is helping his team win, we'd be trading away our future (picks) and cap space for a little change or mediocre present.
This is a problem with alot of NY fans, they want star names and tend to be impatient to a proper rebuild, we are on the right course...
The trade for Beal is a tough call, but the bigger question is what could the Knicks do AFTER they trade for Beal. If they had other moves lined up, sort of like what the Lakers did with Lebron and AD, and I have no doubts that Rose and Co. are well organized and thinking 2 steps ahead, trading a lot of resources for Beal might still be the smart play.
"Melo trade all over again" --not quite. When the Knicks dealt for Melo, they liquified every draft pick they had. They also traded every young player worth anything that they had. And they didn't have that much cap room going forward. They had to amnesty the only PG on their team, Billups, just to land the good center in Chandler. So that was that-- the front line dream trifecta of MElo, Stat and Chandler and basically pray for rain. And once Stat's knees and body were done, we were done.
Knicks have more room to grow than they did back in 2010-2011. They have more chips. They need to use them wisely, but trading for Beal doesn't necessarily leave the coffers empty even if they do deal 2-3 picks and 2 young players.
Not even sure I want to go all on Beal but there's reasons to believe we'd have the makings of a big 3-4 if we got him. Beal, Randle, FA, Quickley, Rose? and some MLEs? Not bad.
