Like if you are the 7th seed, lose twice and dont make the playoff bracket to you go to the lottery? If you are seed #10 and dont win a game do go to the lottery? I keep digging and cant find the answer.
Just my guess. The 7-10 post tourney games will be play-in. Winners will be in playoffs - losers will end up back in the lottery.
https://www.nba.com/news/nba-announces-s...This is exactly it - if you make the playoffs, obviously you are not in the lottery
7-10 play in.
7 hosts 8, winner gets the 7 slot.
9 hosts 10, winner plays loser of the above round (7 or 8) and the winner of that game gets the 8 slot.
So, there is a chance that we finish 7th and miss the playoffs and Dallas finishes 10 and gets in.
Why the hell would they have the worst team (10) play the next worst team (9)? Wouldn't it make more sense to have 10 play 7? I thought better records were supposed to be rewarded, not penalized.
Stupid format. Normally, I wouldn't care, but I really, really, really want Dallas in the lottery.
Ah well, if everything stays true to form, KickaPoozingas watches them lose to number 9 in a suit.
Ok so does that mean the lottery results don't go by record? Meaning if Knicks finished 10 but earn 8th place they get the draft position of a 8 seed? And vice versa? That's the confusing part.
