people are hating on him same the same way they were doing to Randle last year.

He is a top tier backup pg in the nba.

I don’t hate EP or the price. I am looking for excuses why Barrett hasn’t taken over the league yet. Perhaps some patience will do instead, but I am certainly a believer in the eFG/3pt offense ideology and neither EP not Barrett are truly in line with that. Barrett showed greater signs of that, but his trips to the FT line are certainly down this year.

I’m done knocking EP. Watching him fight through screens, there is a lot to love about him.

He seems to getting VERY makeable shots but missing them. His vision for passing is limited. He hasn’t yet corrected the cross court passing or holding off from passing when there is an obvious defender in a passing lane. All of these are fixable and I just don’t understand why they are there and repeated as much as they are. He’s young I guess? Just expected more sooner. Oh, and he is a bit selfish offensively.

None of these are Elf related IMHO

Good analysis 👍

I think RJ is fatigued. Needs a break.

I know he is only 20/21 but his style of play is bully ball and that is rough on the body. He needs a game or two off.

That’s why he is missing easy bunnies lately.

Barrett needs to work with Rose on finishing with Grace. He gets to the rim at will, but he dosent finish well

This is why experience is a thing.
We can complain about this things when player is 3-4 years in NBA and still cannot get it.
For second year 21 years old he is doing great.
Some did better of course but you can count them on one hand.
He may not became a star but is already a quality NBA player for sure.
We had teams for last couple of years with non of that.

Payton RPM is -3.56... 76 place out of 85 PG in NBA this year.
Rose is 47th with -0.92
Quickley is 25th with 1.01 but compared with SGs.
Quick will be 23 (between Smart and Schroder) if he will be in PG list.
Shows pretty clear what Payton is.

Payton is not the answer, but that was not really the question.
Briggs statement was to bestow upon his impulse and thus declare after a few good wins:
“This, such a sequence of first the Elf on the shelf then a Rose by any other name is still a former MVP is........Good”

YOu know at this moment in time, yes it is “Good”. Not great, not the future but this season it is good. Rose is better than Dennis Smith. IQ is the next thing so in the course of the season things are working itself thru.

Haha

Nice statistics.

Not a fan of Payton’s but he is serviceable right now and we are winning.

If it’s not broke don’t fix it is my belief.

He is a stop-gap for this year who is serviceable.

Tibs strategy is to slow down opponent starters with team defense and slowing the pace.
Then blast the opponent reserves with high speed scoring of our second unit still maintaining defensive intensity.
Good teams will make adjustments and will try to apply their game plan.
And deep top tier teams will bit us with superior talent.
But for now it is the best we can do and develop the team and assets at the same time.
That's why Payton and other vets who can execute the plan are good for us.

I’ve noticed this game plan the last 10 games. I get upset when I see the first unit trying to
Play an uptempo game.

Yea I’ve been wondering if other teams have caught on 😅 lol

“The resurgent Pistons led by new super sub Dennis Smith Jr off the bench beats the red hot pelicans who had a big game by Zion/. Smith, in 12 minutes shot 1-2 from beyond the 3 pts line, 50% shooting to finish with 9 pts”

Just messing, I have no idea if he factored in the win but one can change the narrative........
As I have said many times, As long as knicks succeed I hope former knicks fair well in the league. I only care about our pick regarding KP. After that his success only matters if Knicks fail.

He's also acts as a bumper to hopefully keep an aging Rose and our star yoot IQ healthy. Pseudo-minutes restrictor for both of them.
Keep the beat downs going!
