There are several articles this morning on Yahoo that seem very old and likely the result of some re-index on yahoo servers gone wrong..
But today's headlines had articles about Fizdale asking Knox to step up his defense and 2nd one on how his job is safe, dated within the last week.. lol
god he was so bad
Cue the "but he has the hot wife" retort.

Worst Knick coach ever? Maybe tied with Derek Fisher?

I mean....she was hot.
Fisher was easily the worst, because he had no coaching experience and had off the court problems. The off the court stuff is manageable if it's a player, but being a coach makes it so much worse. Fizdale was a company man and well-liked. It just amazes me that coming from that Miami Heat organization, how cluelessly he ran the team. He was a sought-after coach by a lot of teams that summer. He had a reputation that clearly wasn't accurate in terms of his coaching ability. Hornacek was the one i thought should have been more successful, just wrong place wrong time. He was a solid coach with upside.

Horny was my guy too but with no real PGs and a bunch divas on our roster he was destined to fail. It’s a miracle he had the the record he achieved with the roster he had in his last year..

Honestly the Grizzlies players not liking him should have been a clue. A lot of people, myself included thought he got a bum rap but those red flags were real.

I guess it depends on how you look at it. Fiz at least had one winning season on his resume and took the Spurs (who went to the Western Conference finals that season) to six games in the playoffs. But if you
only look at their Knicks tenure, Fiz has a .202% winning percentage compared to Fisher's .294. Heck, Fisher has a higher Knicks winning percentage than Larry Brown (.280).
However, like you mentioned, the off the court stuff involving Fisher combined with his lame coaching is enough to justify Fisher being considered a worse coach. That plus those tight suits he wore. I know that's the style but his suits look like they were purchased from the Baby GAP store.

Obviously no argument there, but thanks for validating my prophet status.
Now if I could only get that lottery number thing to work as well...

Hornacek deserves to be with those two- a trio of terrible coaching. Horny didn’t even have any principles or backbone and was happy to just do what Phil wanted him to, and managed to alienate players too- just pathetic all round
Still can’t believe Fiz didn’t even have any developmental staff and had no shooting coach, when player development was meant to be his main focus. His strategy was essentially leaving all rookies and young players to just do whatever they felt like “let Frank be frank”, “let iso zo be iso zo”, play Knox max mins and jack up shots just because. And we let him fool us for so long because of how hot his wife was!

Hey, when your Prez boss is happy to just cash checks and nap, why bother to do anything but kiss his rings?
Honestly, when Phil hired Hornacek, I thought things were going to improve; here was a guy who actually had some coaching experience, a small bit of credibility. Maybe even bring some actual Western conference happiness into our mess. Unfortunately, didn't work out.
I'm of the opinion only Fisher really approaches the same level as the Fiz-tula.
I wonder how much damage was done to Frank and Knox by these awful coaches.

how much of that was on the front office? Remember when Phil came in, he wanted to replace everyone, including our suspect medical staff, and Dolan veto'd that move?
It's only now with Rose that we have a coaching staff that reflects the wealth and budget this organization should have been investing for the last 20+ years.
So - I don't know that you can hang the lack of development staff, shooting coaches, etc. on Fiz. However, there is a lot you can hang on him
On the Yahoo thing, I've seen the same thing - old news popping up on my feeds.

A lot. It’s like this is their 1st real year.
I hated when there was a call against the Knicks we would stand there with his mouth open and the dumbest expression
