Knicks · Have to get Randle back to 35 min (page 1)
BRIGGS@ 3/16/2021 10:38 PM
It’s just not good physical management of the big guy
ToddTT@ 3/16/2021 10:43 PM
Yep. Going to the well too often.
TPercy@ 3/16/2021 10:50 PM
If Toppin was as polished as we thought this wouldn't be an issue. Unfortunately he isn't and he isn't really in a position to succeed with the 2nd unit not having a real point guard and not getting many looks in his spots. At this point, would it be the worst thing in the world to let Knox get some burn at the backup PF? If he's just going to be a corner guy why not have someone who can knock down that shot consistently?

No idea. I'm sure Tom has reasons.

We need to find a 4-5 who can play some. Preferably a 4
Toppin needs g league bad

G-League is done. Just try Knox and see how it goes.
TPercy@ 3/16/2021 11:48 PM
The corner stuff isn't foreign to him. More looks in the PnR would help him especially in those short rolls. Don't like him in the post. He's had a couple of successful fake DHO's so I'd like to see more. I'm also surprised we haven't seen much high low action between him and Gibson/Noel. Thibs used to love that shit with the Bulls and Minny and now we have a big who is more than a capable passer. If we arn't going to give Knox a chance then please please please make a better effort to get him better looks...even if he sucks right now.

Obi played like a second round pick tonight

Annoying we never sent him to g league when we could, he missed out on summer league and a proper pre season
Knixkik@ 3/17/2021 8:44 AM
I understand Toppin is playing out of place a bit, but he needs to step up and provide 12-15 quality minutes off the bench so Thibs doesn't have to bring Randle back in immediately.

Do you think a freshly drafted out of HS Amar'e Stoudemire would look as lost as Obi has?
Obi=Kenny Walker 2.0. With less game!

it’s possible we struck out again on an impact 8/9 pick. No reason his floor shouldn’t be a competent/good backup 4 behind Randle the next 3 years. If he is not even that it would be sad.
Was Really disappointed when he missed a dunk/layup on a fast break. Of all the situations he is not prepared to be successful in so far I felt this is was one he could handle and in that instance he didn’t.
More loss of confidence after the air ball. I mean ok throw up a brick and hit the rim but not an air ball!
Question?
Who thinks Knox would be more (helpful)coming off the bench as the 4 now instead of obi? 6-7 3/4 220 Toppin 6-9 220
Atkeast Knox splashes that wide open corner 3 (40 percent 3 point shooter with low/mid volume)
Knox looked better as a rookie than toppin.
Disclaimer: I feel Toppin will get better. Needs more practice
Knox needs to work on putting the ball on the floor and taking it to the rim this summer.
Also need to pump fake that 3 when ran off the line and comfortably hit a 19 footer.

Not Thibs? And that's all that matters

Wasn't the first night he played like a second rounder

Randle getting frustrated, after the Nets loss might be in part the pressure of often carrying the team offensively. Looks like it was cathartic, Randle looked to be in a good mood the next game.
Will understand if there isnt a trade for a star, but a bench player without a long term deal, to inject more offense into the roster. That could help Randle, and a playoff run. Give Thibs more of a reason to reduce Randle's PT.
Jmpasq@ 3/17/2021 10:53 PM
Trade for Harrison Barnes
Nalod@ 3/18/2021 7:21 AM
Maybe the knicks were playing over their heads a bit on a soft schedule and we don’t like the taste of “reality”. Knox played better as a rookie than knox? LOL Maybe this coach holds his players to a higher standard and youth get pushed harder. Half a season under new coaches is hard to judge long term. Thibs looked like he put on at least 20 LBs since the season started. He needs a suit to hide that gut. He waddled off the court.

The team is far from built. The missed lottery picks is why we aren't further along. If one of Frank, Knox, or Obi were legitimate starters we would be a solidly over .500 team. The problem is they aren't even rotation players we are getting noth8ng from them
