Dammit, on a night both the Hawks and the Celtics win.
The schedule got us to the 4 and the knicks seized it.
The schedule perhaps has inflated our stature with an easy run.
Won 12 of 13 with Elf as starter. Love him or hate him Thibs rotation is what it was and delivered.
If we can walk away with one more victory, it will be a good road trip.
Enough to hold 4th seed? Lets just say its a nice thought and might be a stretch. Covid protocls might hurt or help us. Can’t tell. Lakers giving us a full roster or they resting? Same for Clippers.
PHX not playing well and Hawks got them good.
Our last game vs. Celtic might be “Must see TV”. Delayed season or not, great to see leaves on the trees and the last game of the season matter for something. Knicks are in playoff mode.
First off, this was always going to be a hard game - a really good team on the road, with a matchup nightmare playing at an MVP level in Jokic (who has murdered the Knicks his entire career).
That said there was clear fatigue in the first quarter. No legs on the jumpers, fouling everyone, just a step slow and less intense than the opposition. Dug a whole they couldn't get out of, even after they found their footing later on in the game. And the fatigue was from everyone - coach brought a lot of different players on the floor in the first and no one could bring it. The schedule has bene unrelenting and a trip to Denver is always a tough change of scenery. Was bound to happen.
They need to steal at least one vs. the two LA teams or PHO. Hawks just blew away the Suns- we almost had them last time. Would love to see us win that one. If the Lakers are still banged up when we face them, that could be for the taking too.

Yep, it's the high altitude. Ppl who live there have a naturally elevated RBC count as their body compensates. It takes our body a few days or maybe a week to produce enough RBC to adjust. So the visiting team is always at a disadvantage. I have actually read about athletes( runners, swimmers and such) going to high altitudes for a week or two before major competitions. The drug tests usually only test for chemicals that are used to increase RBC. But it still shows up on serious screenings, like for Olympics and such.

Should he have benched him when we won 12 of 13 games? Or just in retrospect after a bad game by knicks? He is part of this winning. Its not lost on me that the team is passing him buy but there is only so much Thibs can do with this roster at this juncture given the team is playing quite well!
Its not like we locked him into a long term contract. Frank, Dennis, and Rivers could not take his minutes.
Its not like Thibs did not give opportunity. And still, look how good we got this year!

IMHO we have been winning in spite of Payton. Frank got hurt and lost his confidence. DSJr was well DSJr. Rivers was also hurt.
