Embid turnovers, Simmons free throws, Curry defense just to much to overcome

This is why it’s so important to have a credible guard ball handler. It was our downfall when Rose wasn’t on the court/wore out and now it’s affected Embiid. If I’m Embiid, I’m PISSED at Simmons.

Their 2nd and 3rd option were nowhere to be found. I think this series is a reality check for 76ers and how good Simmons actually is.

Philly shot themselves in the foot so many times this series. Blowing 2 games after being up by 17 in one game and 20plus in the other. Careless turnovers, missing a ton of freethrows and losing at home 3xs!! Doc losing another game 7? SMH

Exactly. I’ve always more or less rooted for the nets until now with this millennial diva team. I’m going to miss the snarky comments by the media about if Knicks fans will be attending the nets ticker tape parade (until the media makes the nets favorites to win it all next November)

That’s a tough pill to swallow.

I must admit though, the schadenfreude is glorious.

Is it schadenfreude or justifiable satisfaction that the guy who led our mentally challenged owner and front office on for over a year then burned us got eliminated?

I never for a second believed KD was coming here. I hope he enjoys playing 10 games per regular season rest of his career

Simmons degenerated into Jared Jeffries the last few weeks- not sure what happened, but he was annoyed at the Harden trade rumors, then later seemed to give up on offense (though that could have been confidence. Also had that back injury late last season. Who know's what his issue is, but I remember on some podcast they counted out the 76er because they said a friend who's a 76ers fan said before they started Simmons did not look right at all so the 76ers had no shot despite their record.

Its ok to feel good about our progress this season but fact is Nets for all the issues had a better record and lasted longer in the playoffs.

As for starphuching, I’d say at some point we go in on one or two. Then we in the same dispised place around the league. NBA fans love when a starphuch fails on all but your team. We loved when ever Lebron’s teams don’t win. Now Durant is a villian.

As for Simmons, the kid is paid on potential and he can’t shoot.

As for Trae Young, he is a tough little SOB! 7th game on the road and the dude delivered his team. I Hope the league addresses “Un natural movements” but have to give him his due.

Embiid on a bad knee tried. I’ll give him that. Simmons is a big kid who could be better than Westbrook but he has to shoot. Did they choke? They had their opportunities but at the same time ATL really is deep and they are playing for Nate Mac!!!!

And major kudo’s for him to shake the “first round curse” or what ever it was! I said it over and over, good coaches oftentimes take the teams further in the regular season which sets up disappointment. I get that, but sometimes its just that they did a great job all year. This was our last season with Thibs.
ATL despite one lower rung was clearly on the rise. I doubt we do what ATL just did to philly.

Simmons is paid on potential still.

Maybe this is my insane bias but is that not a damning thing to say after a loss? How embarrassing.

If I'm Philly, I won't be actively looking to move Simmons, but that door is now wide open

I agree 100%. Move on from Simmons or play him at PF as a secondary ball handler.

Philly is screwed with those big contracts.

Congrats to Nate

jrodmc @ 6/21/2021 9:44 AM
I should have known better than to actively route for a Philly team.

But at least the Nets are just one season closer to another starpuchque waste product.
Nothing against KD, of the three, he's the least annoying to me as a Knicks fan/NBA fan. Not that that's saying much.

Wonder if they move on from Nash.

I doubt it, the injuries did the Nets in. I can see Philly moving on from Doc who was brought in to help them get over the hump. Flipside I don’t know who trades for Simmons right now, he looks more than flawed, he looks broken.
NYKBocker @ 6/21/2021 10:15 AM
Philly needs to trade either Embiid or Simmons. Simmons is the one they should trade but they are selling low with him.

Eat 4 years and $32M remaining on his contract cause his players folded in key moments?

I didn't watch series but was it really all about the bad coaching Doc did throughout series?

That Kardashian curse...we must keep them away from RJ.

The nets problem is they’re old injury prone divas and their window is another 1-2 years before they have to be blown up

The big 3 couldn’t stay healthy for a 72 game season. Now they’re supposed to stay healthy through an 82 game season with everyone a year older? Durant just said he’s playing on the olympics

It twas a mix. Docs bench rotations are quite horrific but this comes down to a poorly fit roster and guys outside of Embiid and Curry not showing up.

Pretty much explains why he's failed to improve in any area since he's been in the league. While RJ puts in endless hours trying to rebuild his 3pt shot, Simmons just says "I am what I am", I'm just not a 3pt shooter, so what can you do about it?

He's 24 soon to be 25. Due to his natural talent, I would perhaps take a flyer on him with the mild hope that he'd look in the mirror and be ready to grow up -- perhaps not likely but not impossible. However there is the matter of that contract....
