Pretty much explains why he's failed to improve in any area since he's been in the league. While RJ puts in endless hours trying to rebuild his 3pt shot, Simmons just says "I am what I am", I'm just not a 3pt shooter, so what can you do about it?

He's 24 soon to be 25. Due to his natural talent, I would perhaps take a flyer on him with the mild hope that he'd look in the mirror and be ready to grow up -- perhaps not likely but not impossible. However there is the matter of that contract....

That’s a tough pill to swallow.

I must admit though, the schadenfreude is glorious.

Is it schadenfreude or justifiable satisfaction that the guy who led our mentally challenged owner and front office on for over a year then burned us got eliminated?

I never for a second believed KD was coming here. I hope he enjoys playing 10 games per regular season rest of his career

Its ok to feel good about our progress this season but fact is Nets for all the issues had a better record and lasted longer in the playoffs.

As for starphuching, I’d say at some point we go in on one or two. Then we in the same dispised place around the league. NBA fans love when a starphuch fails on all but your team. We loved when ever Lebron’s teams don’t win. Now Durant is a villian.

As for Simmons, the kid is paid on potential and he can’t shoot.

As for Trae Young, he is a tough little SOB! 7th game on the road and the dude delivered his team. I Hope the league addresses “Un natural movements” but have to give him his due.

Embiid on a bad knee tried. I’ll give him that. Simmons is a big kid who could be better than Westbrook but he has to shoot. Did they choke? They had their opportunities but at the same time ATL really is deep and they are playing for Nate Mac!!!!

And major kudo’s for him to shake the “first round curse” or what ever it was! I said it over and over, good coaches oftentimes take the teams further in the regular season which sets up disappointment. I get that, but sometimes its just that they did a great job all year. This was our last season with Thibs.
ATL despite one lower rung was clearly on the rise. I doubt we do what ATL just did to philly.

Simmons is paid on potential still.

The nets problem is they’re old injury prone divas and their window is another 1-2 years before they have to be blown up

The big 3 couldn’t stay healthy for a 72 game season. Now they’re supposed to stay healthy through an 82 game season with everyone a year older? Durant just said he’s playing on the olympics

Nets problem. Not ours.
Simmons should be better crunch time by now. they can't break thru. Last year it was on embiid. This year his knee was off but he did give it a good run. He showed more balls this year.
Is Doc telling simmons to shoot or not? Simmons not following the plan or did they scrap the shooting thing with him. The lack of other contributions is troubling. At least according to Shaq.
Those Kardashians are no joke. Devin Booker is next.

excellent way to sum it up. He might be intriguing in a buy low scenario but now that's he owed 170 million or whatever his incentive to do so is what??? redemption?

very risky

Thibs either fixes him or destroys what's left.
Again, I'd defer to Johnny Bryant. Johnny wants a go at him, sure.
IM a fan who can fix him BTW. Just tell him to copy what Drose does. He is 6-10. Send him to Siberia with Rocky and train his ass!
Lets not forget Daryl Morey is running that ship now. You'll see Beal there next year.

While Carlisle adapted to Doncic, they still never got along. Even outward, public examples of Doncic showing him disrespect on the court are too many to list. Doncic deserves his own share of blame for this too, of course. But Carlisle was often difficult to deal with: lashing out verbally at non-star players he disliked or having angry outbursts directed at inanimate objects behind closed doors. All humans exist in shades of gray, and that side of Carlisle doesn’t invalidate touching stories that have also been shared about him in the past days or moments where he went out of his way to connect with a beat writer for his team. But in every corner of the Mavericks organization, there’s a shared sense of relief they no longer have to deal with his worst moments

Yeah, Rick, you are getting too old for this. You just don't communicate with zoomers like you are used to.

There’s no way the sixers are trading us Simmons. Not only same conference it’s basically the same media market

So what's the best ratings draw for the Finals?

Giannis vs PG (and maybe Kawai?)
Trae vs Donovan (and maybe CP3)

I fear for Harden. Trae will adapt but I'm going to enjoy watching Harden get dicked by the refs. Enough is enough!

Since Donovan gone, Clippers Vs. Bucks. Ratings wise.

KG foot not over the line he wins it. It was that close.

Best basketball news in ages- about time! Teams will actually be allowed to guard Harden and Trae Young.

Remember when the league accommodated Hibbert with the verticality rule, allowing him to foul Melo in the playoff series and create a new defensive stud, then Silver destroyed his career by changing the rules back (or at least the calling of them) when he became commissioner- wonder if any player has a similar decline

I'm kinda worried that IQ will have a tough time in his sophomore season.

Refs already stopped calling those fouls for him the second half of the season, unfortunately!

Haven't we heard this stuff before and after the first month of the season we're back to normal? I know the leg kick thing was addressed previously by the league.

Too bad they didn’t do this sooner. We could be playing the Bucks tomorrow.

How amazing was that out of bounds play? It got me shaking my head thing about how trash all of our out of bounds plays are.

Whose side does Paul George play for?
