I was blaming the coach. Like you said, everyone knows Elfrid should not be playing but the coach starts him anyway.
I would like to see them force Young to play D. They had him on RJ late and I wanted to see them take advantage of him in the post. Hopefully it's something they look at for game 2...

For better or worse, Thibs is stubborn. We all knew he was gonna go to the rotation that got him there. Elfrid was bad, yes, and in an ideal world you start Rose and play him the whole game. But that’s not where we are and still this wasn’t what killed us tonight.
Having Randle playing like his worst 2020 impersonation and RJ doing another vanishing act killed us. It was a miracle us being in the game. They both were huge disappointments.

When Capella was moving over to double Randle and Randle was looking befuddled with his dribble that's where we could use a sure handed 7 footer in the pivot to make the Hawks pay. Instead we have Too Short Gibson and Stone hands Noel. They've filled-in admirably for Mitch but they don't replace Mitch.

Unless he is cleared, we have to play without him. We definitely can win this series without him.

As far as the game, there are plenty of fingers that can be pointed. That said, Julius Randle was the reason we lost this one.

Yes. You can ride Noel as a starter for a while but IMHO he is a good backup.
I hope Nerlens is okay. We could have used him late, and certainly need him in the series.

Thank you - when RJ is being guarded by Young, you have to post him up- we should simply look to attack him, get him to get into foul trouble.
