I know all but perhaps a few of us would love to see Frank do his moth to butterfly thing and emerge with some inspirational music and bust that little shyt up and drop 15pts on them. Harper? The first 5 minutes are token minutes for the PG in this team. Yes, we all want Rose there, but he has a nice thing going and I can understand Thibs sticking with it. So why not Frank? Let RJ be the primary distributor along with Randle doing his point-forward thing.

I agree with you, knicksfan. Thibs needs to take a chance on Frank just give him Atleast 8 mins to tire out trae. Hopefully he can get into a rythm and hit a couple of 3's. I have this feeling as long as Thibs sticks with Payton the knicks will be on catch up mode. Frank doesn't need to be the primary distributor we have both Randle and RJ to carry that load. The knick need someone to hound Trae with like a starved dog chasing a T-bone! 😜

I think this is the way... run set plays for Randle early and surround him with RJ/Burks/Bullock and hopefully we knock some phucking shots down

I voted for Elfrid but the more I think about it, the Knicks should go with Quickley. He's not a great playmaker but I feel he is more suited for the role than Burkes and Rose is doing a great job coming off the bench. I don't think you mess with that.
With that being said, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but Thibs may need to start finding time for Frank. I'm not completely benching Payton YET. I'll demote him to second unit, maybe 8th man, and see if going against the opponents role players is more his speed but if that doesn't work out and he is just completely SHOT, I need to have Frank warmed up and ready to go for game 3.

I would go with Burks to start. Except for Young, Hawks starting lineup is big and Burks brings more defensive flexibility out of the gate. Although he is not really a PG, he can combine with Randal as ball handlers in the half court sets an brings enough D as well as another option on O and from deep.
Would rather they hold Rose a bit longer as first sub as he is showing some wear and tear - allow for his impact against the Hawk's second unit to be even stronger. Go from there and game flow will dictate who is on the floor for most of Q4.

You mean "if" you see him starting. I'm thinking Drose will start and Payton will come off the bench and play with IQ in that 2nd unit. I think Payton fits better with the 2nd unit or when Randle is on the bench. I don't know if they compliment each other in that starting unit.
But let's say Payton starts....Thats why Thibs is a players coach and players like playing for him. He's consistent by default....and loyal to a fault. But players respect that. So starting Payton again may not be a bad thing, regarding team chemistry and not allowing Payton to turn into a locker room cancer. As long as Thibs doesn't wait until we are down double digits to bring in Rose, I'm good.
