Hes been forced to take 30 footers and hacking up oen handed floaters from poor angles. Atlanta defense has eaten him up

He's a rookie and will definitely learn from it. Can't say enough about how valuable this playoff experience is for Quickley, Barrett, and Toppin in particular.

Yea it looks that way. He was doing the same thing his first 2 games of the season. I think half of it is he doesn’t feel he has the green light to take such big shots if other more senior players are on the court.

So it’s part can i shoot this ball and should I shoot this ball.

As far as his 3 point shooting goes

Quickley is passing up shots and hesitating. Instead of shooting those threes he is getting off the screens, he is hesitating trying to setup the floater. He needs to realize his floater game will be more effective if he hits a couple of threes first. The Hawks are big but it is more Quickley’s hesitation than the Hawks’ size that is stopping him. He needs to just square up and let it fly when he gets open off a screen.

I've been saying all year that we need to run more sets for our shooters. Pin down screens for Quickley and Bullock or flare screens to get them open looks. Most of IQs shots come off one on one play, kick outs from Rose or Randle or off a broken plays.

It's what happens when you don't have a true passing PG on your team. Knicks have gotten away with Randle facilitating more but teams that can plan against it and play zone'ish take that away in an instant.

Atlanta also has the size/quickness to swarm IQ and IQ don't have enough of a handle and burst.

It's crazy for me to read that IQ should just instantly be the Knicks starting PG or play PG at all without someone else really doing the heavy lifting at decision making and ball handling.

That's what he has been doing all season. He's just off and not getting to the line at the same rate. I'm not sure Atlanta's defense deserves that much credit.

Immanuel Quickley is a ROOKIE who has exceeded expectations, playing in his FIRST playoff series.

Nothing about being a rookie- he’s just not tallor quick enough to get good shots off so far. Obi Toppin is a rookie and he’s playing his best ball.
