NBA Rumors: Holmes, Schroder, Turner, Paul
By Sam Amico -June 3, 2021
The Knicks are expected to be among the teams to pursue Kings forward/center Richaun Holmes in free agency this offseason, sources told Hoopswire.

Holmes, 27, is 6-foot-10 and coming off a career season in Sacramento, compiling averages of 14.2 points and 8.3 rebounds in 60 games, shooting early 64 percent from the floor.Richaun Holmes
Holmes will be an unrestricted free agent and has also been linked to the Spurs, Bulls and Pacers. A return to the Kings is also viewed as a possibility as Sacramento aims to build some continuity.

More from the NBA
Along with Holmes, the Knicks have been mentioned as a possible destination for Lakers point guard Dennis Schroder. The Heat could be another possible suitor, one executive told Evan Massey of NBA Analysis Network. “I’ve been hearing a ton of Schroder to New York talks, but I’m not sold that will end up happening,” the exec said. “Miami is another team to keep a close eye on. They are going to want an upgrade in the backcourt and Schroder seems like a perfect fit if the two sides can agree on price.”
Massey also hears that multiple teams are expected to pursue Pacers center Myles Turner via trade. The Hornets, Knicks, Celtics and Lakers are among those with an interest in Turner, Massey wrote.
In case you missed it, Suns guard Chris Paul could turn down his $44 million player option to seek a multiyear deal this summer. It would be a similar move to the one made by the Hornets’ Gordon Hayward last offseason. Check out the full story here on Hoopswire.

And it begins. The Knicks have the most cap space, so it's to be expected that every agent, uh, I mean NBA source will want to link their clients to the Knicks. Leon and Perry have kept things close to the best for the most part, so I won't take most of these rumors seriously unless there's more meat to them.
Panos @ 6/4/2021 8:34 PM
In think the move that the FO makes is going to be something no one is even talking about.
TPercy @ 6/4/2021 11:47 PM
Want nothing to do with frauder. Not a good enough shooter and I have my doubts of him being a true PG. Turner I like but he’s not a priority and neither is Holmes.

Don't like Schroeder either

Most always is the outcome.

Thibs has a “Type”. I doubt we bring in guys that don’t fit his system. CAA is not a certain type of player characteristic.
So perhaps we can’t quantify that as being all important. Guys with talent but reputations for not being workers might not be trade targets. Don’t make them bad players or unsuccessful but there is a culture here and not all will want to be here, nor be asked.

Wow Richaun Holmes free agent? Thought he signed 4 year deal? I wanted him two years ago.

PERFECT player for this team. I really really hope the Knicks go this route/- hope this is true. I’d give him 4 years 44 mm

I mean, I guess this is a little bit of a dig but not really meant to be. I am constantly shocked at how people take in information and/or when and how they consume it.

I've posted about Richaum Holmes a bunch of time as a possible FA center. Also, if you are in the FA investigative market, how could you miss him?

Some good places to start:

I really didn’t check the secondary free agents but this certainly is a good 1. Gives us what we need. A shot blocking center who also scores 12-15 points and believe it or nit he’s a very decent passer( which I like) To me this guy is almost a must have —- I hope we go tgis route

Does this officially mean you're off the Andre Drummond bandwagon?

I was on the get Drummond for playoffs wagon and I think he may have helped us-- couldn't be worse?

I think it could've been worse. Who knows how his addition affects the end of our season? Perhaps we fall all the way to the play-in game. And evidently Drummond was expecting to be a starter where ever he landed. I just think it was a bad mix, not to mention I don't think Drummond is the type of guy who helps you win.
