distribute, make shots, defend, lead
nah we don’t need that. Let’s bring back Rose on a one year deal
Dinwiddie is starter material but will fade into off the bench role given potential injuries and age.
Nothing wrong with that. He can start for us a season or two then take Rose’s spot at some point. Derrick goes injure and Mother Nature is relentless. This is but one of many scenarios.
For all we know we make a deal with Clev for Sexton and bring Love in for two years at the five. Dude an rebound, stretch and is a good passer. Not a rim protector which might be a Thibs no-no. Limited minutes of course and we keep on of mitch or Noel.
Does Clev take a center or a guard in the draft? They have Allen. If they take Mosely then perhaps Allen stays a year or two then gets traded? Many chess pieces to move.
I don’t see us taking and holding three more rookies on this roster.
Do we move randle and make a strong move for ATL Collins in Free agency for stupid non matching money?
IN the not what we have seen but Payne and Thibs see: Obi as the 4 and randle is traded? Its about what can be, not what is. Fans suck at this.
THis is not about Randle BTW, its about a surging asset and a team wanting to acquire is NOW talent and we manage our cap moving forward and increase opportunities via draft and youth.
This is counter to the “Players want to come here and play for Knicks” For now randle is part of that attraction.
My thoughts on Dinwiddie? They expand!

The East looks wide open, we have a good team, good Players under contract, and a win Now coach. I don't think much of what you say makes sense except for the first part about Dinwiddie.
Love's contract is so out of whack with his production he needs compensation from the cavs to move him or is a buy out candidate. Even for the vet minimum, I don't see how he fits with what we are doing.
If we traded Randle it would be a terrible look, guy practically single handedly Turned the franchise around.
We finished 4th in the conference, why are you looking towards the future. The future is now.

My shit don’t need to make sense. Its nonsensical.
I’m throwing all kinds of stuff. As you might see I like Randle a lot and don’t see him being moved.
But…………Trade him for Sexton and Love. Hypothetical and money does need to be worked. Stay with me……….
Then sign Collins. He eats cap, but not from trade. Love maybe lasts a year.
Sexton for Randle is about what sexton could be, not as he has. If JohnnyBryant don’t see it, no way to take that flyer.
Love has been shyt. Part of it is Cavs are trying to dump him. Does Clev owe us a pick to make up some gap? OK. Love has had plenty of rest time and mental quality with his supermodel wife. Is he physically able to finish his career reasonable? Maybe he resurrects in Gotham. I don’t know.
Cav’s draft Suggs, Sexton is expendable.
This only works if you can get Collins. You get sexton and COllins fo the price of Randle.
We got Randle for moving KP. Randle came free.
All of this is pure hypothetical spitballing.
Got it. I don't think Collins goes anywhere, not after this run. Not sure why Cleveland would move Sexton, seems like they would keep him at least for another season to see if he fits with whatever guy they draft.

Rumors are that they don't see him as a fit for the team now. Garland is less talented, but they feel he at least shows some aptitude as a playmaker. Collins was gunner this season. He has some big games, especially against the Nets, but he gets tunnel vision and forgets he has teammates. For his part, he was fairly efficient and the Cavs have been a crap show. He might have felt that he was the only capable of getting done. Would that change with Thibs?
What on earth were the cavs thinking giving Love that contract? Isiah laughs at that deal
I like Dinwiddie a lot - very aggressive player and doesn't play scared - whatever position he plays. He would make the Knicks better, as he's simply a better player at this stage than Elfrid. I think he's more adept as a PG than anyone on the 2020-2021 Knicks roster, except perhaps Rose - tho Rose never in his career has been truly a facilitator in the first place.
Whoever we get, I don't think a big consideration should be finding a Trae Young stopper - he has ascended to that "unguardable" category. You just try to stay in front of him and hope he has an off-night from beyond the arc. (but yeah, he's find a way to make you foul him anyway)
There are obviously better choices... but most of them will be just mild upgrades that won't take the ball out of Randle's hands. For the Knicks to make a dramatic improvement, the Knicks need to find a true floor general that will be a better PG than Randle...

Look at the roster and the reasoning at the moment they did it. Not a few years after.
Then think if healthy he has trade value too. It was a deal most of us scratched our heads at.
Covid seasons, A nasty coaching change, and dysfunction that came after.

Love has always been an extremely overrated bum. Even Lebron admitted it 2 years after forcing the nba to send Love to Cleveland

NBA forced Clev to resign Clev? The guy that helped win a chip there?
The guy that was voted to 2 more allstar teams in the 2 seasons after the chip?
“A bum”……..???

Kevin Love is overrated trash. Stats guy who fills a box score especially the L’s. He doesn’t even try on defense. Eddy Curry is Mitchell Robinson on D compared to Kevin Love. Ever wonder why Love has never been on a team that won more than 30 games unless Lebron James was also on the roster?
Lebron learned very quickly what a clown Love is. That’s why they hated eachother. I don’t care a bunch of teenagers who know his name but rarely ever actually watched him play voted him to the all star team
