Knicks · Offseason trades and possible free agent signing (page 2)

Yes, the knick made the playoffs this year with the 4th seed in the East. If they add 1-2 impact/star players in the offseason will they be instant contenders? Probably not, that is why even how tempting the prospect of CP3, Lowry or conley is investing on as a point guard with around a 3 year window doesnt appeal to me that much. By the time the your core is ready to enter their prime of hit their stride their star point guard may be starting his decline.

Hopefully the FO and the coaching staff will do their homework and look into the younger options like Ball, nunn or Graham.

A senario that the FO and coaching staff might look at is Luca, if they see him to be a future starting PG of the knicks, bringing in CP3, Lowry or Conley to stir the ship for 3 years or so while mentoring Luca and groom him to take over is something that is out there as well. I just dont want the knicks to face this same point guard problem after 3 years or so. Again searching for the knicks starting point guard.

Aside from the PG spot, a starting wing to pair with RJ is another team need. Hopefully the FO can address these needs this offseason be it the final solutionnor just a stopgap.

I can see him as being a younger, slight upgrade over Bullock even though he's not the shooter. Bullock retained off the bench. The PG situation will come down to opportunity and cost. I can see Lowry or a trade for Brogdon on the higher end, and Graham or Reggie Jackson on the lower end.

C Robinson/ Gibson
PF Randle/ Toppin
SF Hart/ Bullock
SG Barrett/ Quickley
PG Lowry/ Rose
Plus 2-3 rookies

Something like that

Yeah, he's flown under the radar with all the Lonzo talk. Would $12M be enough? He's restrictioned, so it would have to be enough to make the NOP flinch.

Yeah 12 per year might be where NOP starts to sweat. We will see. He hasn't really broken out, but he's a highly valuable wing. You think of him in place of Bullock in the playoffs. He would defend Trae, but they wouldn't be able to hide Trae on him like they did Bullock. Hart would take him right to the post.

I like Hart but he hasn't been a good enough shooter since college for whatever reason.

What's Hart's game? I don't watch him

He's better than Frank. Think a more physical and aggressive Courtney Lee or a more skilled Pat Connaughton. Or a more athletic, in shape Jared Dudley. His three ball has been all over the place for his career, but he's enough of a threat that you have to guard him out there. Solid passer and has been used all over the place position wise.

Anyone thing ATL won’t be better full seaason next year?
Miami get their shyt together internally?
Bulls, Indy, and Charlotte? One steps up?
Boston perhaps retweek things?

I can see it. Not to be hating, just not ignorant to the world around us.
I say always “Knick take care of its business and it all sorts itself out”. It did this. And we have a foundation to build on. Not results to duplicate.

We got away with mostly inept pg play this year. It will come back to haunt us in a big way next season unless we get one of Ball, Dinwiddie or Kemba

Of those three I'd say Spencer comes with least question marks as far as NBA PG play, and that's taking into consideration that he's injury prone and coming of a knee injury.

He’s a physical 2-way wing. His shooting comes and goes but he would be a slight upgrade over Bullock. Not sure if he’s s difference maker but is a player thibs would use a lot.

Is Duncan Robinson in the Knicks radar? Is he just a shooter? Hows the other aspects of his game? Will he fit along side RJ?

I think the assumption is that Duncan might be looking at Joe Harris money and Miami will quickly match any offer more reasonable than that.

Philc1 @ 6/16/2021 5:23 AM
More I think the more signing Dinwiddie makes sense. Problem is he will want a 4 year deal. But we don’t have to give up assets to get him unlike with Lonzo and Dinwiddie will probably play a lot more games next 2 years than Kemba

There are so many different directions the Knicks can go this offseason. Another article that says both the knicks and Lonzo have mutual interest plus the knicks are not concerned with the pelicans matching their offer.

If the knicks go with the two rumored players that have mutual interest with the knick, how much improvements will there be for next year?

Starters: Mitch, Randle, Oubre, RJ and lonzo.

Will this line up match well with Atlanta?

Wonder if Reggie Jackson's performance is catching Roses attention

I have Hart at $10mm and Ball at $18.5mm. Not sure Hart is good enough to break the gravity pull of the MLE. I don’t think NOP keeps both unless they unload Bledsoe. They should just spend assets to unload Bledsoe.

SVG obviously did not endear himself with his young players as its been written about. Did Lonzo figure in all this? Move ZIon to point forward seemed like a bad idea long term regarding preserving his healthy. Also, you take the ball out of Lonzo’s hands and naturally he would need to leave. Did Pels figure Lonzo needs to be in the fold and bring in a coach and bring it all together?

SVG is a big fat jerk. Ron Jeremy lookalike would take shots at us anytime. Hope he enjoys more time to go to the buffet

Good realistic take. Naturally nobody knows what next year brings given the moves that can be done. We tent to over think the potential of starphck moves or that we can make some meaningful trades.
Even if we improve, other team will not stand pat.
Boston still has a core.
Miami could bounce back.
Charlotte has room to improve internally and make some trades.
Cleveland rocks, Cleveland rocks……Can’t suck forever
Indy had issues this year.
ATL…….

I can easy see us get better but fall in seedlings.
