Knicks · Going over all these guys. Doesn’t Duarte from oregon (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 6/13/2021 9:59 AM

Look similar to Klay Thompson at Washington state? Not saying nba Thompson but very similar look to the players in college. Very similar quick clean release. Same size or close too

xblvdels3 @ 6/13/2021 11:43 AM
I’ve been calling for him for about 3 months now. he will be a better version of bullock in 4 years.

More athletic. Can put the ball on the floor some.

We could probably slide him into bullock role next year but we would be losing bullocks veteran experience and knowledge.

He has some defensive lapses that should be ironed out by our staff.

Waiting for the combine in 2 weeks to get his measurements. I think he is m roughly same size as bullock height and wingspan. Hoping he comes in closer to 6-6 no shoes.. min 6-5 no shoes

I like his fake then side step 3 on the wing

Basically a Reggie bullock upgrade imo

Similiar stats in college. Similiar measurements.

High upside ( Klay Thompson )

Low upside ( Reggie bullock )

The alternate (Corey kispert)

BRIGGS @ 6/14/2021 10:59 PM

I’m liking this guy for 19. Dribble pass shoot defend 3 levels quick smooth release. Explosive lift high iq

BigDaddyG @ 6/14/2021 11:04 PM
There's some speculation that a team may have made him a promise since he's skipping the combine. It could be any team since his game could plug in anywhere. Something to keep an eye on.
HoustonSprewell84 @ 6/14/2021 11:42 PM
I want him and that Center from Turkey, Segun(sp).

Duarte looks good and has a nba ready body.

Knixkik @ 6/15/2021 12:01 AM
Yes he’s one of the best players we can end up with at 19.

Yikes 😬 ugh

franco12 @ 6/15/2021 7:18 AM
Nice prospect. Weird that a mid first round prospect would skip combine- I doubt it would be us at 19 because if you’re a half way decent agent, you feel you could with a good showing get to the later part of the lottery- so I have to assume it’s in that range of 12-15 that someone made a promise, no?

xblvdels3 @ 6/15/2021 7:57 AM
If he gets taken 12-15 it just means someone projected higher will fall to us. Should be interesting.

Knicks having 2 1st round picks maybe could afford to make a promise with 1 of them. Duarte could feel confident he won't slide beyond 21. There's a connection between the Knicks and Oregon program too. Duarte is a nice wing prospect who can have a role here early in his career.

I agree he can become a more versatile Bullock over time. Good shooter and defender. Good athlete and has some on-ball ability too. Poor man's Klay is reasonable. I also like Kispert and as a fallback to both of them, Trey Murphy, who is a 3&D prospect as well.

1. Kispert
2. Duarte
3. Murphy

Get one of these guys with either 19 or 21. With the other pick, maybe take a chance on a more risky upside pick (Isaiah Jackson or Zaire Williams for example) or trade the pick for a future first to punt as another asset for a star player trade.

19 and/or 21 is a great opportunity to add a quality role player needed when trying to establish a playoff team.

I think at 21 Charles bassey will be there and I think we should take him. We could also take that small ball foreign center martin posted about

At 32 a versatile tall sf. I have Jeremiah Robinson or roko prkacin both 6-9

Yup that’s how I’m game planning our draft if we don’t move up.

I like Bassey at 32. 21 might be a bit high. He's not a high-upside prospect like Isaiah Jackson or Kai Jones for example. For Bassey he's got good backup potential and at 32 that's solid value when we are talking about centers. We need to think about positional value too. But overall i like him. I can see Mitch, Gibson, and Bassey as the 3 centers on the depth chart with Bassey replacing Gibson as the primary backup in a year.

I’m pretty high on bassey. He’s not anywhere near as raw as most C. He made 18 3s this year shoots near 80% from the FT line and over 60% overall. Now you throw in 18 points 12 rebounds 3 blocks at 7 feet tall— an extra year of school— worked hard to over come injury— sprints every play up and down. The way thins uses a C I feel he’s al ost a lottery pick talent— only held back by said injury and the lack of passing that elite players have. I’m thinking he’s good enough to be an immediate contributor behind mitch.
In fact I think a draft of Duarte bassey earl will give us advanced players who can take 3 of the top 12 spots. In turn we can focus on one star asset— I like the idea of Kenna walker too IF Boston throws in first rd picks in 2023and 2025. Kenna walker rose pg with Quickley as a third is real good. Huge huge upgrade

I like Duarte. I wish his D was a lil better but I think he’d be a contributer right away and you can never have too many shooters

He’s known as a defensive player first. His offense came around later.
