2nd team all rookie. Position has to matter right ? Because there’s no other logical reason he misses and Bey and Tate make it. Besides Bane, Quickley was the only impact rookie on a playoff team. Hopefully he uses it as fuel to improve next year.

This isn't a rookie MVP voting.

Last year barrett gets penalized for putting up numbers on a bad team. This year quickley gets beat out by guys putting up numbers on bad teams.

Effing bonkers. If position dosent matter then there’s no fucking excuse why he isn’t 1st team. Load of absolute crap.
Jesean Tate...the guard version of Quincy Acy got more votes than Quicks. We aren’t watching the game of basketball. Simple as that.

As ignorant as this is it’s not quite as bad as RJ getting totally snubbed last season
Other than Jesean Tate, those other players did have a better year than Quickley, so I don’t see it as a huge snub. I am more concerned with Quick improving his game because he has a lot he needs to work on including his ball handling and decision making. The RJ snub was far worse.

Bey was not good early in the season. He came on really late when the Pistons were flat out tanking and just playing him a ton of minutes. Bey's shooting numbers and eFG% were also worse for the entire year. Context has to matter. At the very least, Quickley was the 4th best rookie this year.

Agreed, only thing he showed us is that he can shoot, no ones really raving about any other part of his game.
He definitely needs to step up his defense because we should have been able to put him on Trae

That's a lot to hold him accountable for as a rookie in the playoffs, no? The front office/coaching staff shouldn't have to do that.

I'm mean I'm not expecting him to be all defense, and I'm well aware he's a rookie, I'm just saying he has a lot of developing to do.
He's a good dude with a great work ethic and has a solid coaching staff to help him so i really want to see him raise his IQ.
He has a (shoot first ask questions later) mind set, and that's ok but I would like to see him develop into a true combo guard (patrick Beverly/Lou williams) Type
Joke
Yes he has things to work on.
He also could average over 15 ppg on a bad team. He could have also had Atleast 15 games greater than 20 ppg performances this year if played more.
Also provided a futile effort comeback in our final loss. Big heart. Very competitive. Winner mentality.

I think we're kinda splitting hairs between IQ, Tate and Bey. You could make a legit case for any of them being 1st team and the closeness of the vote between the three indicate that. I probably would lean towards IQ since his numbers are comparable in fewer minutes playing in more meaningful games. But I'm not sure I would consider it a snub. IQ not squeezing on to the 1st team is not egregious in my opinion.

I don't know who you are comparing Bey to but if it's IQ your statement is wrong. Bey eFG% was 53%, IQ was south of 50%
You swap IQ for Bey who having the bigger impact?
TPercy wrote:You swap IQ for Bey who having the bigger impact?
Bey
Would you rather have Bey or IQ? Bey is a plus defender and you’re not finding many people that wouldn’t take him over IQ.
He was the 6-7th best rookie in the class. That’s a huge accomplishment. If we can have the same luck this season we are in great shape.
FWIW TRiple Threat was pushing for Saddiq Bey. looks like a good player
TPercy wrote:You swap IQ for Bey who having the bigger impact?
I keep hearing the word "impact" as if this is the most "valuable" rookie award or recognition. It's who had the best rookie season. I remember the year Iverson won rookie of the year. Marbury actually had the bigger impact because his arrival turned Minnesota from a 26 win team into a playoff team. But Iverson posted the better numbers and got the hardware. That's pretty much how its been for a while.
