Knicks · Shariffe cooper vs tre Mann (page 1)

Who do u have and why?

Cooper more of an engine

Tre Mann more of a curry type pg

BigDaddyG @ 6/30/2021 9:00 PM
I think I have Cooper, but I totally understand why someone would have Mann. Mann is a good shot creator. I question is defense and his ability to consistently get into the heart of the defense. Cooper is an engine and his vision is above average. I think he unlocks the offense with his lobs and ability to find shooters. His shot looked a lot better in workouts. His defense in the half-court might turn Thibs off.
mikesknicks @ 6/30/2021 9:01 PM
I would be good with either one but I like Mann a little better because of his size. I think cooper is more of a dog and because of this, he may become a leader earlier in his career, which would help our team in the long run.
Knixkik @ 6/30/2021 9:21 PM
Mann because he can score more ways. At some point we need a PG that can actually shoot. I love Coopers abilities but I can’t overlook the shooting problems.
BRIGGS @ 6/30/2021 9:48 PM
With Duarte and Mann youd walk out of the draft with 3 point shooting riches from the 1-2 that can be a huge + for many years going forward. Both have good height athletic ability with other intangibles as well.

The scouting reports all point out Duarte's inattentiveness on the defensive end. He taketh as he giveth. Mann as a shooter, as well as Murphy lll would be a solution at the two spots(guard + SF)that we need.

Trey Murphy could have a similar pro game to Middleton with his size

I don't see that. Middleton has an innate talent for getting of his shot that I can't see Murphy developing. Murphy has ways to go before he can be a semi reliable shot creator. I see Murphy as a cleaner shooting Al Aminu right now.

I am no expert but from what I have seen I would pick secret option number 3 Miles McBride. After him I would go with Mann because we need as much shooting as possible.

Latest Knicks Fans Tv talks about both players:

Corey said Cooper is more of a previous gen, CP3 type of PG, best passer in the draft who would be much higher if he had a 3pt shot, while Mann is more of the new gen type PG, both got good praise

Duarte was all conference defense. He’s known as a good defensive player.

I’d draft Duarte very high. If he wasn’t 23 he’d be in conversation for a top 5 pick. So at 19 or 21 he’s a steal

Agreed. I would even trade 19 and 32 if we needed to move up a few slots to grab him. He’s someone you feel may be better than Bullock from day 1. If not, he’s still an instant plug and play rotation wing.

Tre Mann for me. I don't consider Mann a PG but he is still one of the most gifted shot creators in his class while being a pretty good shooter. His playmaking isn't there yet, but he has the vision to develop it over time to becoming a lead guard.

His shot is very slow but does look good. He is an nba combo guard no doubt.

If he can shoot the ball well enough than he’s definitely worth a pick.

If he was a tad taller he might be a top 3 pick.

Can see the Knicks drafting this kid too. The more PG version of IQ.

6'2" but only 170lbs. Frank-like wingspan

I can't see the Knicks taking him at #19 but maybe #32?
