good on the lakers

They’ve filled out their roster well- should be interesting, could be a disaster- hope they beat the nets if that’s what it comes down to

do they have anyone who can space the floor at this point? West is in FLux. Lakers are old. CP3 is old. Portland is no better. GS is a question mark Denver will be scrappy and fun but do they have enough. Clips are broken this year. utah will be good

Looks wrong. Feels dirty.

Imagine we have a Cinderella season, and play them in the finals? Obviously doubtful, but that would be some crazy shit.

seems like a very awkward compilation of players. Lavine and DeMar are both best with the ball in their hands so what does Lonzo give them exactly? he's not UCLA Lonzo on that team

Vucevic also only seems to provide value if the ball is in his hands

they have their rookie last year P.Williams(?)who seems promising. Lauri is odd man out and frankly stunned that he didn't somehow end up in SAS

Quick! Everyone try and scrub all the sh!t we talked about Dennis Schroeder on this forum. You know, he's not that bad. He can attack the paint and maybe his 3 point shots bounces back this year....
smackeddog @ 8/3/2021 6:15 PM
Did the Dinwiddie to the Wiz deal get done?
jskinny35 @ 8/3/2021 6:21 PM
Would be curious to know if we did pursue other PGs and they simply turned us down. I would actually feel better knowing our FO tried but were rejected vs we just didn't inquire. Would have passed on Lowry, CP3 anyway - but Ball, D.Graham, Horton-Tucker should have been at least considered for an offer IMO.

Kendrick Nunk to the Lakers.

Him and Monk would have been solid for us.

BigDaddyG @ 8/3/2021 6:38 PM

Man...I would have even settled for him.

Monk would have been redundant. Nunn, for all his faults, would have been a decent ball attacking guard.

Saw this on Knicks Reddit. Maybe this will put a smile on your face.

Great call! I couldn't figure it out at first. I think he also has a?mentor mental relation with Wendel Carter, so makes sense for Orlando too.

And

This ring chasing stuff is getting old. It was ok when older players did it as a swan song but now players in their prime are lowering their value to do it. This is not my NBA.

My next move is Sexton and if not him, look into Marcus Smart, pivot to a 2 year prove it deal for Oladipo, and if not him stopgap with Avery Bradley.

I just don't understand how the salary cap works. How can the Lakers afford these guys with a stacked roster and other teams can't?

Not a good look for our "well-connected" front office if true....

It’s not money it’s a scientific formula

There are a thousand loopholes to get money concerning how you sign guys and even the timing of the signings. Look at what Aller did with the Knicks. Bird rights for Rose all deals signed but Fournier were not garaunteed, the Knicks could still easily clear almost 18 million in cap space if need be.

I'm sorry if this is harsh but as a Knicks fan can we just do a little reading here. It says he "turned down more money from the Knicks and other teams...." they ALWAYS name the Knicks because it draw attention.

I said in another thread, this is not a Knicks problem but a league one. Older players chasing is one thing, but guys in their prime taking less is not good for the league or players as a whole.

Any complaining about Schroeder was about paying 20 million. If Knicks can get him at half that price, it would be a great contract.

They didn't do any sign and trades, so after Westbrook they weren't hard capped. They then had bird rights with their FAs, the MLE, and get minimum contracts to play with.

They let Caruso go for nothing and could still add salary by helping Schroeder do a sign and trade. Not sure what their tax payment will be but it won't be cheap.

Really great job by Pelinka, that roster will be a lot of fun.
