Wow, I didn't how fast the turnaround is. Summer league a week or so after the draft! I know its right after the olympics. Didn't realize how close it is. This pandemic mixed up the calendar for me. More basketball soon, im not complaining!
All players are working off season seemingly, especially the young ones. OBI was NCAA player of the year then it just stopped and covid messed up the whole NBA rookie class. Some did better than others. Curious how OBI assimilates to his first summer league and then into next season. The rookie class had issues training off season, get drafted just two weeks before camp starts. He had leg strain in camp? If so, he was playing catch up. In all there were not many great rookies this year in general. I know many of you have great ability to project out his career ceiling but I for one reserve judgement on him given his history of being a bit of a slow starter. Thibs obviously saw him progress as the season came on and his best games were vs. Atlanta in the playoffs.
Vildoza I expect a lot from given his age and experience. Once again, his contract stipulates a team option thus he was paid for last season as a bonus of sorts, and while I think he is qualified to be an NBA player I can see a mutual understanding if he is not in the rotations or close he asks out and goes back Euro. Just my opinion based on his age, stature and the way the contract went down. HE got paid by two teams last season!
Is Knox going to play??
I’d like to see more ball handling duty from IQ not just looking to draw fouls. The rules are changing.
