He’s not that good at scoring.

You kidding me....he was great in Toronto and with the Magic he used kill us...that counts for something...solid defender...if it is 32 & 58..great...if 21 & 58 not my preference...but ok. They are trying to get the wing they wanted in FA before FA starts that's all....

League Average eFG last year was .538. Ross' eFG was .485.

League Average 3pt% was 36.7%. Ross shot 33.7%

Feel like with 12.5MM and a pick they can create this kind of performance without too much trouble. He's getting 15pts off of 13 shots for a pretty bad team. That's not really that impressive to me. I don't see it.

If there is any truth to it, not a fan of using cap space this way - much rather bring back Bullock or Burks to build with the chemistry we've already got. Would be OK parting with the 2nd rounders.

I do remember him Lighting us up for 30 pts, 6 rbs 4 asst, 2 stl, 2 blks and they Won.

Resigning Bullocks and Burks doesn't really make us Better.

But yeah, I think a 1st round is a bit much, but on the other hand is a rookie going to come in and do what he can, knicks are a playoff team

i'm in this camp.

where is Orlando's mentality with Isaac and Bamba. Maybe we absorb a bunch of these questionable injury, productivity, or overpriced guys, and #8 for some collection of our picks

Also why wouldn't they be interested in Obi?

i agree with others, as a straight up trade i'd be surprised. what's he offering as an UPGRADe over Burcs or Bullock --- if it's sideways why trade picks

He's a legit scorer from the wing. I'd say he's a moderate upgrade. I think he's a few years older than Reggie and he makes more than what Reggie and Burks are likely going to make. I wouldn't be dead set against this move. It depends what's in play.

I'll admit i haven't followed him but checked out his stats and was underwhelmed. do we need ot give up assets for a guy like this? seems like those are the kind of guys you get in FA (where we have done so and gotten better value).

i'll keep my fingers crossed so that if there is any truth to this, it's part of a larger deal. Orlando seems to be a mess right now. I can see them wanting to keep both lotteries. but i also can see them wanting picks and youth

they've either drafted worse than us or had bad luck for a loooooong time

What if it's a protected second-rounder or a second-round pick swap? Like I said, it depends
EwingsGlass @ 7/29/2021 4:56 PM
If I am the Knicks brass, I am talking to everyone about everything to see how each team values their squad. You could probably have Tony Snell for under 10mm and let him take 13 shots instead of 5 shots for the same production. Tony was on a good team and didn't get as many shots. Otherwise his stats are better(56% from 3??? small sample set?).
Allanfan20 @ 7/29/2021 5:07 PM
If we are taking on his salary and giving up low picks so we can get that number 8 pick, then I am good. Otherwise, this is senseless. His FG% and 3 pt fg percentage sucks. Plus he plays for the Magic. What about him actually makes us better?

i guess i'm not seeing an upgrade based on the numbers. i might have a soft spot for Burcs too. Something that doesn't show up in most stats is whethr the guy hits his shots when they count. I saw Burcs deliver a lot in the fourth and in crunch time in the fourth so i want him back

Reggie has been inconsistent but he seemed to be more consistent as the season wore on. He has a nice two man game with Randle. I can see us upgrading from him but if we do so I'd prefer a clear upgrade rather than a "maybe" upgrade -- and maybe chemistry suffers.

i agree with you and others though that he may be good as added depth (not a replacement) for some form of second rounders.

We need shooters, but more importantly guys who connect at a good clip and in the clutch

He has 2 years left. $12.5 and $11.5

Yikes didn’t realise hoopshype has already shut the books on the 20-21 season

Who is this loser and why do we need him ? I hope I am misjudging this potential move
VDesai @ 7/29/2021 7:33 PM
Who knows I'm sure we are listening to see what they want back because they are shopping him around. We defenders on the wing. It doesn't make the most sense, but you have to see what the cost is
