Lonzo is an unlikely option at this point, the knicks think he was a good fit with the team during the trade deadline but not anymore. The most likely outcome is Lowry will sign with a contender, not the knicks. Nunn and Payne will be the next player i want them to target. If no other choice, will Dragic still be good for 20min/game? Luca and Deuce can share the remaining PG minutes.

No Lowry, or Dragic, unless you try to get Dragic from the Raptors now:

Ball to bulls
CP3 staying at suns
Dinwiddie to Wiz
Conley staying at Jazz
Lowry under high demand, Heat favorites

Seems to leave:

Dragic (if the heat get Lowry) Miami picked up option, likely to trade to the Craptors
Graham Hornets say they want to keep him, so likely can’t be had for cheap
Kemba Walker trade
Sexton via trade
Cam Payne
Reggie Jackson
maybe Brogdon via trade

You should re-do the poll with those as the options!

Now, looking like we’re down to:

Kamba Walker trade
Sexton trade
Maybe Brogdon trade
DJ Augustine trade

Cam Payne
Reggie Jackson

And who knows if sexton and Brogdon are even available. Sparse!

Have I missed any other options?

You guys just keep trying to convince yourselves Elf won’t be starting here next November

Why do you keep saying this? You've said it like 4x now. Please. Stop.

A.) He's not on our 2021-2022 roster.

B.) The Knicks FO is not going to sign him as a Free Agent considering the fact coach Thibs benched him and REFUSED to play him during the playoffs.

C.) His own mom seen the writing on the wall.

See I would like to get in on Dragic and bring Rose back for a year as a stopgap solution but I don't know what that costs Toronto.

It doesn't really matter what I want, but I think the Knicks are looking at Kendrick Nunn if a trade doesn't happen.

I think he's more likely obtainable than Duncan Robinson (Heat will likely match to keep him)

Duncan Robinson is the Knicks go to plan as far as free agents. Then Knicks will look to add a pg via trade

As I shared last year one of my highschool buddies has a few clients that are scouts in the nba. Last year gave me some info I passed along as it’s come out. Says the Knicks are committed to getting elite shooting that fit with rj and Randle especially someone who doesn’t need the ball in there hands.
Said the sentiment around the league is the Knicks feel there’s some attainable “guards” to fill there pg issue.

Who that is no clue. I asked if he can get me some more info. I’ll pass whatever I can along.

No idea how legit they are, but it certainly seems a trade is the best way of adding a PG rather than FA, judging by the options still available. But then again outside of Sexton, what trade options will be available for PG?

Jmpasq @ 8/2/2021 7:29 AM
Looks like we will strike out in FA again. Time to admit NY just isn't an FA draw. Our weather sucks and our taxes high. Today's players just don't want to play here. There will be no quick fixes without paying through the nose in trades.
Chandler @ 8/2/2021 8:23 AM
i don't understand why people are using terms like striking out???

we did pretty well last year. A.Rivers was the only FA that didn't pan out.

there is a lot of buyer's remorse with some of the huge contracts. if you think you get to pull that trigger only or three times max, then we should be very sure or ourselves. not let money(cap space) burn a hole in our pocket

Looks like we've struck out in FA again?

Nice to know because Free Agency' hasn't even started yet.

I dunno if Lonzo Ball ever becomes a taller Jason Kidd, but that's the hope if you pay him, and he certainly has the tools. He is an intriguing player - getting up to 38% from 3 and 78% from the line is a big jump. His assists/playmaking haven gone down in the process, but man if he can put it all together the promise is there. Putting a # on his value as an RFA is what is tough.

Should just accept the inevitable

No.

Because I don't believe any of us Knicks fans want to see Derrick Rose as our starting PG next year because imo he's no longer starting quality and is much better while being utilized as a veteran leader of a sparkplug off the bench.

(PS: I wish I knew how to edit the poll in order to include D-Rose and Graham, but unfortunately I don't know how).

How about now? It’s still his job to lose.

We need at least one serious playoff run in order to finally become a destination.

We need to stay competitive next year. These contracts, 3 out of the 4 are really 2 year deals, Fournier is a really underrated signing I think he will be really good for us he’s just a 3 year deal really

We do need a veteran PG to start. Rose is not the answer. Hopefully we dump Knox and sign Jackson or Schroeder
