Yeah he's trying to do too much and missed two 3s from further than Steph Curry range.
Obi Toppin looks A+ awesome though. And McBride and Grimes really get after it on D.
Sims athleticism is really impressive. He has a little back-to-the-basket game as well. Lots of potential. Hope the Knicks really prioritize his development over the next couple of years because he has the potential to be really good.
Obi Toppin. Wow. He looks amazing out there.
Down 2 at the half and I'm glad we fell down by 12 pointes there in the 2nd Q because we got to see these young kids respond with heart and no quit. I liked that.
And Jericho Sims. Even the announcers said he looks like a STEAL. He looks like an impact prospect out there.
Well we're getting destroyed and Quick has killed us like 1-10 from 3 etc I'm hoping that practicing with the USA Olympic team didn't get to his head or something.
I'm just kidding about Immanuel getting a big head he's still a young player he'll rebound next game.
The Knicks need to rip up that two way deal for Sims and sign him to a 4 year rookie deal. That kid has crazy hops.
Toppin is looking good too but he still needs to improve his defensive recognition.

I live these types of + payout value bets.
Vegas loves our Knicks talent and youth so much to the point of having our Knicks and then Detroit as both the #1 favorites to win the Summer League Championship (+550 for both NY/DET).
17 minutes until game time baby!
So, about this…

This is this years breakout summer league star. Remember Anthony morrow? Omar is gonna be an nba player. True low block with skill out to 3. How the f did tgis guy fall through the cracks????????
I’m not sure what we have for cap space but he’s been so so good— you can see the obvious translatable skills. I’d off er 7 mm for 3 years— and I’d do it today. If I gotta trade Knox to do it fine. Sims can go to g league this year. The level of play from him has been insane. I looked back. Look at his stats from Georgetown — how did he not get drafted????? He’s built like Tim Duncan 7 feet 260 with long arms. I doubt we will see a better prospect from this years draft.
he looks incredible. I wonder if he'll be this amazing during the season
The Knicks SL team are weak-weak in the same position on offense/defense as Thibs 2021-22 Knicks rotation team .. PG & SF (we gonna miss Bullock)!!!
The Knicks need a PG coach like Jason Kidd.
I know its the first game .. but if McBride, Grimes, Selden, and Vildoza give us another weak-weak performance like today .. Our Knicks scouts need to be FIRED !!!

It is tough to play PG and effectively run a team with a bunch of players you are not used to playing with, especially when you only have 1-2 years experience yourself. I agree they looked bad, but it is only the first game. Grimes is going to a baller IMO once he gets more reps.

rooks man. although vildoza may get cut
At 0-1 are NYs chances of making the playoffs pretty much eliminated already?

Oh well just playing with house $$ from the Knicks just making the playoffs last year so probably a bad $177 bet but who cares was just a bet I wanted to have fun with.

I have been saying this. Out of all of the 5 new rooks/draftees, Sims could be the best. His hops are the best I have ever seen. He has to duck his head every time he jams. His footwork is great also. The devaluation of big men is incredible. I think based on hops alone, Sims has lotto talent, similar to Mitch.
Sims, in his first game, 6 of 6 shooting (dunks/lowpost moves) is fantastic. I wonder if Sims could beat Mitch's NBA record for highest FG percentage in a season.
Yurtseven for Miami is also a summer league stud thus far.
Jericho Wall - if he plays any defense.
I would like to see Sims use his hops for blocks!

indeed, ala Mitch

Remember when RJ was a "bust" after his first two Summer League games?
Everyone showed some skills. No one is hanging heads
Toronto had the two best players on the court and their subs played well.
Next game I’d like to give McBride 35 min from the pg. iq got his chance
